Stressed about Vomit on Main Street last night!

My daughter and I had an amazing time at the Mickey's Halloween party last night, until we got puked on immediately following the firework show. A middle aged woman vomited right on the sidewalk in front of the corn dog cart on Main Street. It splashed up and hit both me and my 11 year old daughter on the legs and feet. I immediately informed a cast member who was nearby, and rushed my daughter and myself to the restroom to clean off. We got very little vomit on us, but it was definitely on us and our shoes and clothes (we were both wearing sandals). In light of the ebola scare sweeping the country, I am freaked out. I keep hearing we are safe as long as we don't come into contact with any bodily fluids. Surely, if there WAS a guest with suspected ebola visiting Disneyland, it would be in the papers today, right? They couldn't possibly keep something like that quiet? I'm hoping someone just overindulged in the Trick or Treat candy, but I can't help but be a little concerned. :(

The only current Ebola patient in the US right now is in New York. I think you are just fine.

George, I get it. First post and all, I've been on enough message boards to know about trolls. But I assure you that I am just an overprotective mother. And I do know that ebola isn't running rampant thru the US, but with the hype and the attention, can you not say that it might freak you out just the tiniest bit to have someone's vomit on your legs?

Not really. Because I keep up with what the CDC is saying and the fact that Ebola is not running rampant in our country and all those who have been in contact with the ones WITH the virus have made it through their quarantine periods just fine. Would vomit gross me out? Definitely. Would I think I'd catch Ebola from it? No way.

While it would gross me out, it wouldn't freak me out. How many millions of people live in this country? How many people have ebola or have even been exposed to it? You've probably got a better chance of winning the lottery than catching ebola.

No, wouldn't freak me out.

I know this a board filled with people that love to talk about Disney and the incident did indeed happen at a Disney park but if I was worried about an ebola scare I don't think this would be my chosen site for advice.

People vomit everyday at WDW. I wouldn't worry too much. If you are super worried monitor your temperature twice daily for 21 days and call the CDC and go to the hospital if it gets high.

This might be my most favorite response posts ever! I'd be concerned about catching the flu, Ebola, not a chance.

I wasn't expecting a diagnosis or anything from the DisBoards, I just thought if by some horrible chance that that woman really WAS sick with something dangerous, someone may have heard something. I'm sure I'm overreacting. But I know people are on top of what happens in the park. Thanks.

The only reason an ebola scare is "sweeping the country" is the mainstream media. It causes otherwise rational people to freak out over something they have virtually no chance of getting. The pentagon was locked down last week and hazmat teams were called in because someone threw up after getting off the shuttle bus. A train station in Texas was closed down and a hazmat team was calked in because someone spit on the platform. A teacher from Maine was placed on 3 weeks leave because she attended a conference in Dallas and stayed 10 MILES away from the hospital that treated the Ebola patient that died.

I threw up in the shower last weekend. I can guarantee that my first thought was NOT "I have Ebola".

My first thought in your situation would probably be, "oh God, I'm not pregnant again, am I?!" :)

Was said vomitus eruptis expelled from a citizen of a ebola stricken country?
If not, then I believe you are safe. ;)
