Dis Exclusive Viva Italia 9/16 - 9/24/2014

It's here, and it's gorgeous!

And I am VERY impressed with the packaging... very sturdy boxes, pieces well-cushioned with bubble wrap and moldable foam. They took a lot of care with this- I think an elephant could have used the boxes as a chair and not harmed the contents! Extremely well done!

:goodvibes

I'm loving the trip report... You're just at the part where the good food porn will start, LOL!!!

I need to see that gelato again... Oh, how I wish we had a good gelato place in my town right now!

Just checked and the photos from Dusty and Marco can be downloaded.
:rotfl::rotfl:

Our Orvieto purchases arrived safely and are now unboxed. Beautiful!

Began editing/tweaking my pictures yesterday. Orvieto/Florence is mostly done. Might get more done over the weekend but not sure how much free time we will have at the NE DIS Meet.

Mike - wasn't there some sort of central place for us to put pictures from the trip? I vaguely recall signing up for something. I am so impressed by everyone's amazing photos!!!

Since Brian will be at Disney without me next week, I plan to console myself by working on a photobook of the trip.

This may be a question for Kevin, but the dinner sets (two plates and a bowl) we ordered in Orvieto have arrived. The first question was can we put theses in the dish washer? Any one know? Kevin???

:confused3

Laurie, Start here and upload you picks and then share them to the ABD Italy group

I think I figured out how to put them on the ABD Italy group flickr page!!

Also, I visited the local Italian grocery store and am having my own personal wine, cheese, olive, and prosciutto party here to console myself because my hubby is on his way to Disney:sad:

Oh My --- Good Question ??
I guess if I don't actually USE them - then I don't have to WASH them .
I purchased the Oil and Vinegar cruets. I don't think I will have to wash them as I'm not letting anyone "touch" them.:rotfl2:

I have a lasagna pan from there that I have used successfully.

That being said.....I would never put it (or the dishes we purchased) in the dishwasher.

It may be perfectly safe, but I wouldn't do it.

OK I'm functioning on a slow speed.....my goodies from Orvietto arrived on Tuesday but being the slug that I am I didn't unpack them until this morning. Besides the fact that a nuclear bomb would not have disrupted them and Ebola would be unable to hitch a ride given how well they were packed, they are absolutely better looking than in the store. I went with the fruit motif ( 2 platters and a bowl, thank you Kevin for enabling and convincing me to buy the bowl) as well as a coffee mug (will be thinking of John and Kevin since this is the pattern from their tableware that they bought on this trip). Chuck and I were talking this morning and initially I didn't think that I would ever do Italy again but if another trip gets organized by these guys then we will see if it is in the budget (who am I kidding....what budget):rotfl2::rotfl2:

Wasn't the packaging amazing? An elephant could have stepped on that box and not damaged the goodies! And it's all so GORGEOUS!!! What wonderful souvenirs of a fabulous trip!

Our game day munchies are going to look pretty awesome in my new relish tray from Orvieto!!!:cool1::cool1: Got the photo book I ordered in the mail yesterday and it brought back so many memories! What an amazing trip!
