I won't take up space by quoting everyone who responded to my earlier question, but I do want to say thank you for putting things into perspective for me. Quite honestly, you pretty much confirmed what I knew in my heart of hearts...that it really doesn't make sense to do the split stay based on what we have planned. I sure will miss the BC, but we'll be saving a ton of money so that's a plus. DH has threatened for years that we took our last trip to WDW for a long time, but yet we've gone back every year, in fact taking our first childless trip this past February. I do really think our trip coming up in January WILL be the last one for at least a few years so obviously I'm trying to make the most of it. Sorry for all that so I'll just close by thanking you again for your opinions.

Dee,

Of course, you can post a link to my review. :)

I didn't actually set out to give such a detailed one, but I'm quite wordy on the written page, lol.

And Ninja Mom?

I'd be honored to be a member of the team. If you truly think my special talents will be an asset.

Hi all excited to be writing to you live from the beach club. We arrived yesterday and were magically upgraded from a standard view room to...

Had a great day yesterday. Started with lunch at....

Did some swimming and headed to Hollywood studios where we saw the beauty and the beast show which I had never seen before and really enjoyed. Then went on TOT, TSMM and Star Tours. We then walked around the boardwalk where dds watched a magician. Then we headed back to bed. This morning dds did some pin trading with, who else -teena!!! So nice to meet but we were running late to our breakfast destination - chef mickeys. After that we ended up at...

Where we went on space mountain, dumbo, barnstormer, saw philharmagic, ate at bog then thunder and splash. I really wanted to stay for the parade but the kids and dh were dragging so we headed back for some swimming. Tonight we headed to...

Where we did some food and wine then went on spaceship earth and ran to soarin when we saw a 5 min wait at 8:45. Last we caught the last few minutes of illuminations as we strolled "home". All in all an excellent start to our trip. I'll try to keep up with some live reports since that was the only way I lived through the last few months of waiting.

Just did my Fast pass selections... Thank goodness I set my alarm for midnight... Anna and Elsa were already booked on the day I really wanted to meet them (the day my DD becomes Elsa at BBB), but luckily I got a FP to meet them on the next day at like 10 pm. The first time I looked, it was booked, but checked again a few minutes later and was able to find one. Phew. My DD would have been so disappointed and I refuse to wait hours in line to meet a character.

I feel like I received some Pixie Dust tonight! pixiedust:

When I have visited WDW and not stayed at the YC I have also felt out of place. The visit we have coming up in a few months will be our first one back at the YC in a few years and we are really looking forward to it. I think you will find that staying POR to be an excellent alternative and then when you do come back in a few years you too will have that heightened "welcome home" feel that will make the trip that much more special. I hope this year's visit goes well for you and the family. Just don't stay away too long. Atl least you can get your BC fix by staying on this board and visiting vicariously through all the trip reports that are posted here. At least I have found them to be helpful while I've been away.

It's never too early to start planning and dreaming, right? And I am sooooo excited even though I don't go until the end of April! It's my first time at the YC, and I have read in a couple of places that "nearly all" of the rooms have full balconies, and that some of them are shared. Is this true? If so, does that mean I would still have to put a request in for a full private balcony? I have booked a GV. Thank you!

If you don't have any other requests that are more important, then you can add that as a request, or have it as a secondary one. Can't hurt.

I am only aware of a single room at the YC with a small balcony (club level water view). Does anyone know of any other standard rooms without a full balcony.

I don't know how the shared balconies are assigned. I don't think I would like that, so if I had a room with a shared balcony, I would probably see if they could put me into a different room. Although I have heard from others who have been given these rooms who love it because they never see anyone else out there and have a nice big balcony at their disposal.

:)

I think that most of the shared balconies are for the standard view rooms. There are only a few rooms without full balconies. So the odds are good that you will get a full private balcony with a garden view room. But you can always add it to your request, just in case. :)

Still no pictures of the lounges? Or did i miss them?? So excited to see it

Not yet.

Tried posting images of an old YC/BC water bottle we found at mom's house and it isn't working.

Have you tried again? Still having problems? Posting pictures in general or just this one?

If you want to email it to me, I can post for you.

:goodvibes

This reminds me...
I bought a water bottle at YC last year, and meant to pick up a 2nd one when I was there in August, but alas, I forgot. Is there any way to order it (or any other RSM for that matter) online?

According to a receipt from the Beach Club Marketplace, here is some contact info:

Beach Club Marketplace Store Number 4031

I think that makes a lot of sense. It will be a wonderful trip, no matter where you are!

After almost two months, I've finally started my trip report. You can find it here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3337448

Check it out, people!!!

We get a lot of questions about using personal shopping services for groceries during a Disney stay. I have never used any of the companies, but someone sent me a private message about WeGoShop, so I thought I would pass along the comments:

"We have used WeGoShop for our past two trips. We like that there is no minimum order limit and that we can choose the store because we like the Albertson's. For our last trip, we wanted a case of store brand bottled water, a case of Bud Light and twelve cups of yogurt.

Our credit card was charged for the purchase price of the items plus the service fee. Much cheaper and easier than going by taxi to Super Target or Walmart.

The first time we did this, we needed to meet the delivery person to check my ID, but then the company put the information in their database so we wouldn't have to do that again. We were also told that the service fee is discounted if you are a veteran, police officer or firefighter."

If anyone has other comments/info about any of the delivery services, I will add them to the Other Useful Info post on the front page of this thread (Post 14)

I am a 7 time wegoshop veteran and always a strong supporter. I always recommended them. I liked that I could compose my own list and I liked that there was not a per item markup. Their deliver fees are higher,
However, in preparing for our upcoming October visit, I experienced incredibly bad customer service from Amy Martin, the owner and her husband. I will never use them again, nor will I ever recommend them again. This is very sad.
Just my experience,

WDWHereWeee Come - great photos, and wonderful to be able to read your live report! It's especially good to see some sunshine with the awful weather her in the UK today...grey, sleety and blowing a gale. It is good for me to remember I should have some sunshine like that in 6 and a half months :goodvibes

Interesting to read about the WeGoShop, thanks. I would be keen to see comments on grocery delivery as this will be the first time in all our stays that we won't have a car to pick up supplies. We will mainly want bottles of water, cases of beer, and some of those small bottles of wine you have in packs of four over there that are just a lovely size for a glass on the balcony! I know there will be some info on the DIS elsewhere and I intend to have a look and a read of it later, but I shall keep a close eye on any comments here.

Just thought I would pass it along since I haven't seen anything official yet...but the Winter/Spring Disney Visa stay/play/dine and room only discount was released this morning for those who have a Disney Visa. Assume it will be open to the general public in the next few days. Don't know specific dates/resorts, etc., but I was able to book it no problem this morning. We are heading to WDW in March for my daughter's sports tournament at ESPN, staying two nights on property then the rest at a condo offsite. But alas, the Beach Club was way out of our price range for this particular trip....two nights in a standard view with the discount was $747.....ouch. Booked a Preferred room at CBR instead (we stayed there on our honeymoon 24 years ago!), saved almost $350. Will miss my little slice of heaven for those two days, but trying to be fiscally responsible this trip!

What number did you call to book this?

1-407-WDISNEY, the usual resort reservations number. Just ask for the Disney Visa discount.

Ok thank you I just saw the dates for this it's until March 2015. I am going in late April 2015 so hopefully they will come out for a discount for late spring dates eventually as well.

So excited.

First time staying with Vacation Club and its at Beach Club. Just a studio, but hey, I've got to start small.

We don't go until December, but I am loving this thread. SOOOO much great information.

Just my experience,

Thanks for posting this. I am sorry to hear you had poor service, especially after being such a loyal customer. I actually have one of your posts recommending the service on the first page of the thread- I assume you would like me to remove that.

;)
