cosplay and Disney inspired outfits for adults

I just showed my oldest daughter (11) your outfits and she loved them and want me to find her some shorts and shirt combos to wear now, especially Snow White, when we are there. Our 2nd party night since her cousin is going and they will mostly do rides all night she has the minnie ears, tail, gloves and is doing black shorts and red shirt.

I love it!!! Please post some of the outfits when you go!!!

I'm loving the storm trooper outfit! And I've been following the Disneybound on Tumbler. Its a large part of what got me into the idea in the first place.

I just discovered some dark green t-shirt material in my fabric stash and am wondering what I could do with it. I seem to remember Maid Marion wore a similar green. I'd need an accessory or two with foxes and maybe a touch of something sheer. So much potential!

I just need to decide on a design and confirm I have enough fabric.

We're going on an All Girl Trip in October, and heaven help us, one day we're all (about 12 of us, from age 2 to 88) are dressing up as Pirates (I guess it's OK because we're doing the Pirate boutique thingy for some of us?) and one day we're all wearing either red and white or black and white polka dotted dresses for "Minnie Mouse Day". I have a bunch of sparkly Minnie ears, Minnie purses, red and white polka dotted purses, bracelets, headbands etc for everyone, too.

And this is all before we get out the real costumes for MNSSHP.

And: Disneybounding in between. Usually I look like heck in the parks - it's hot and I just want to be comfy. Having to step it up this time and have my hair curled and makeup on for a change! :clown:

Ok we all still have that kid in us and Disney seems to bring it out when we go to the parks. My question is how many adults get into cosplay and actual try to wear outfits that represent a Disney Character? I know adults are not allowed to get in costume but the more I research this the more I find out about finding clothes that you can put together to look simular to your favorite princess or vilian. Do you see many people in the parks doing this? If you are one of that has what character did you represent and how did you do it?

i remmeber last year that a lot of shops carried a t-shirt with princess collars representing snow white, belle and i think i remember seeing sleeping beauty. I know for definate you can buy a red dress with white spots that adults can wear to resemble minnie mouse. i hope they still carry this because i want one to wear with my yellow ballerinas!

what does everyone think I should do...?

I'm torn on when to wear two disneybound outfits. One being Daisy Duck and the other being young Ellie from UP. I want to wear BOTH of them on my Hollywood Studios / Animal Kingdom (split day), but of course I cant. The one I don't wear, i'll wear to MK on my last day.

-I want to wear Daisy on that day since she'll be in AK in her typical pink shirt, purple bow, pink shoe outfit (this is what my disneybound outfit is)

-I want to wear Ellie on that day since I'll meet the UP characters at AK and the Pixar area in HS.

Which would you do?

(such problems, right? haha)

IMO, I'd wear Ellie on that day, since you'll be meeting the UP characters in both parks, and to me, HS has such a Pixar presence that that's the outfit I'd want to wear to that park. You can save Daisy for your MK day (if you're planning one) since she usually has a M&G with Pluto at the flagpole right when you enter the MK park gate.

oh perfect! I didn't know she met with Pluto at MK! I was going to be at different spots during our trip that Daisy would be around, but not in her traditional outfit. And I like meeting characters in our "matching" outfits since I am a huge dork. ha! So, thanks for that info!!

cute shellie may/duffy disneybound ideas? needs to be comfy enough to endure an entire day on the park, and searching around I found one outfit of each bear, but they were not suitable to park days ):

trying to find something to simulate Lady's collar too (-:

Ok I had to look this one up since I am not familar with Shellie May Duffy. I would suggest a shirt and Shorts or pants in the same color as her. find a heart neclass and add a tan color bow for your hair. You might also look for an iron on of her that you could put on a shirt. The other idea I had was if you could take a tan or brown color marker and put a paw print on your arms or legs. Just a thought. You can also paint your nails tan.

As far as ladys collar is it safe to assume Lady and the Tramp? You may want to try Etsy or even ask a craft store for ideas that you can make yourself.

What ever you do come up with I am sure we all would love to see pictures.

My sister is going as Cruella for MNSSHP and my 88 year old Mom made herself (with a little help from me) a dalmation costume. I made the collar out of an old belt, not a leather one but a flat sort of cord thingy. The kind of belt that sometimes comes on pants and dresses, often there is a squared off metal bit at the end.

I cut that end of the belt off (it was red; you'd need to find a blue one for Lady) about 3 inches longer than the neck of the person who'll be wearing it. Then sew or glue velcro underneath and between so that it easily attaches to itself with the metal side showing at the neck. It really looks like a dog collar! (The actual buckle of the belt is cut off. Just the metal end suggests a dog collar.)

You could make a tag (and laminate it) that says "Lady" and hook it to the collar with a jump ring.

I might be able to fit in a meet and greet with Merida who is one of my favorites. Of course this got me thinking about planning a Disney Bound outfit. I have found the belt I want but I am having a bit of trouble desiding on a dress and decided to take a poll. Here are some of the dresses I was considering:

Please help out by putting the number of the dress you like and whether you think I should go with brown boots to the knees or just above the ankle boots.

Here is the belt:

If any one else has come accross anything in their search and would like to share please do.

I think you'd be most comfortable in dress #2 or #3. Dress #4 seems a bit on the short side - one errant breeze and you'd be flashing your goodies!

What time of year are you going? I'm a knee boots kind of gal, but if you're going anytime between late-April to end of October, that might be too hot for you.

These are great. We saw a couple of college age girls dressed in Anna and Elsa inspired outfits at the A&E meet and greet. It was so creative they way they had done it using just regular clothes in the right combination and then hair and make-up. Wish I was that creative!
