Thinking a trip with no kids....still fun?

We go to Disney quite a bit. Going again in sept.

Me and my wife are thinking of going to Disney in feb but with no kids.
It will be my bday. But also we want to do keys to,the kingdom tour and experience more of the countries in Epcot. Kids always seem to get tired and lazy around the countries.

Is the trip still fun with no kids? Would be my first trip anywhere with out them.
Was thinking a beach vacation also. But we go to beach every summer as well.

My hubby and I have vacationed in the world together prekid and loved it. That said no chance my daughter would ever let us live down going to the world without her. We do a week vacation without her each year but usually choose some place non kid friendly. In the past few years we've done key west, London, napa, and Vegas. Heading to an all inclusive in Mexico in November after our trip with her to the world.

Me and DH are doing our first no kid trip in 22 days and are so excited. First time we are going away without the kids too. Going without the kids makes it a completely different experience. We are doing the wild Africa trek tour and also dining at V&A. Going to spend a lot of time in the Epcot countries as well. I think you should do it!

That's what I'm thinking. Totally different experience without kids.
My kids have been a lot. So hopefully they would be cool. Lol.
But I want to do different things like the trek or tours and better dinners.

My wife and I take a yearly vacation, leaving the kids with my parents. Its a win win for everyone. We've been to Las Vegas, London and Paris, and Quebec.

With that said, we would not pick Disney as one of our trips. The kids absolutely love their week with their grandparents, but I don't think they would be happy to find out we went there without them. Also, at least for me, I really like Disney because of how much the kids enjoy it. When we went to Paris, we thought for about 2 seconds going to DL Paris, but for the reasons I mentioned before, that lasted only about 2 seconds.

My recommendation would be to take a vacation without kids, but go somewhere else.

I would love Disney with no kids. Hubby, not so much. It all depends on you guys. If you enjoy Disney itself just as much as your kids do, then you'll probably have a blast. There are plenty of activities and things to do geared for adults, so I say go and have fun. ;)

I've never been to the World WITH kids. Don't have any. DH and I are in our 50's and we have a blast. We've done several different safaris (we own @ AKL) and tours, we do special events and parties, and we will probably always go during F&W and MNSSHP after trying MVMCP one time. Missed it too much. We can't afford to go every year "in the style to which we've become accustomed", so we prefer to have a really great trip less often than a lesser trip more often, but we wouldn't be able to do our kind of trip with kiddos. I love watching kid faces and reactions while we're here, and I wish I had a few, but that's not my reality. We do have a great time though!

We've over-the-top enjoyed visiting WDW with our DD when she was younger and with our grandkids.....but we've also over-the-top enjoyed visiting without them. We go at least once a year, some trips longer, some shorter, and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. You set your own pace, take all the time you want checking something out, trying new foods, staying out later, sleeping in, simply sitting and watching the crowds go by, the list goes on. And yes, we did this even when our DD was younger.

I'd say go for it....you will have a WONDERFUL time enjoying WDW and each other!

I know some think it is not the ideal place to go without kids. I've gotten a lot of looks from people who ask where DH and I are going without the kids and when I say disney they are like . But I don't go to disney just for the kids when we all go. Some people go to make the kids happy and while I could do that once I could not keep going anywhere if I didn't enjoy it for myself as well. There are shows to see, tours you can do and just the finer dining is making this trip so exciting. No rushing to make rope drop or any stress if we are running late for a FP. Usually the kids want to do different things and there's a little arguing about it. Me and DH can just sit back and take in all the stuff that usually gets overlooked because of the rushing around. We are dining at V&A, FF and Jiko. I personally don't want to sit at a beach or pool my whole vacation and that is why I think disney is the best choice. You can do that but then when you feel like you're ready to explore it is right there waiting for you. I hope you give it a shot. If you love disney as much as we do I can't see how you will be disappointed.

We loved our no kids trip! We did the Backstage Magic tour and leisurely enjoyed the parks with no strollers and diaper changes! It rained 2 out of the 3 days but we didn't mind one but. We threw on our ponchos and had a blast. It was awesome not worrying about keeping kids/strollers dry!

We went to Food and Wine last year without the kids. I know they were not happy we chose there because they love it, but they easily survived and are not scared for life. We did the keys to the kingdom tour and a food and wine special event. We are hoping to do it again next year. We had more fun at Disney than we did on our Honeymoon.

I also am going in February to run the Princess half without my husband or kids. I don't think the kids have caught on yet as they are so focused on leaving in 33 days.

UMMMMM, YESSSSSSS!!!!!

DH and I went to Disney several times before kids, including our honeymoon and we have always loved Disney!! It's so much fun, just adults!!

All of our trips have been with the kids since then and it's just as fun, just a different kind of fun. We often talk about when we'll be able to go by ourselves again. :goodvibes

Touring WDW as an adult-only party is a revelation. Its a wonderful opportunity to spend time looking at details, doing more "adult" attractions and skipping those that appeal less, enjoying some fine dining experiences and, in general, just doing what interests you.

Would it still be fun without the kids? Are you kidding?! It'll be much more fun - because you can finally do what YOU want to do and let your Big Kid out!

DH and I are going on our first no kid WDW trip this Dec and cannot wait! We have gotten a few kid free moments at the World when my parents went with and it was sooooo fun we wanted to try a whole no kids trip! My kids are fine with it since we are DVC members they know we will go back with them soon :-)

My husband and I have a long weekend coming up in 12days. Totally different experience without kids. This is our 4th mini trip without them, we have a blast we can stay at the parks as long as we want and get to do the things the kids don't enjoy.

My boyfriend and I have no kids (yet). This will be my 4th "pre-kid" trip. It's always an amazing time!!

I haven't been to WDW in over 20 + years with kids. My kids are old :rotfl:
Been there with them as adults and with a grandson. Not the same a different adventure.

I still do the character meals, parties, meet & greets, husband and I celebrated an anniversary at Mickey's Backyard BBQ on Thanksgiving last year. We enjoy children, and are surrounded by them, but the characters always interact with us one on one too.

There is no too old or too young age for loving Disney. Celebrating 60 years of ME at Chef Mickey's next month !

My husband and I live 10 minutes from Disney and have annual passes. We go all the time, and we don't have kids yet. I honestly have a hard time imagining Disney WITH kids! It's gonna be weird not being able to go on rides together once we have kids...we'll probably be anticipating them hitting the height requirements more than they will! :yay:

So yes, Disney without kids can be quite fun. It's nice being able to do what you want and not have to worry about strollers, not being able to go on all the rides you want, kids getting bored, etc. etc. If YOU enjoy Disney, you should go without them. However if you get most of your enjoyment from seeing them excited about experiencing the attractions, I'd skip it and go someplace else.

We've been to WDW numerous times with our DD and usually let her take a friend along. She is now 24 and this will be our first trip without her as she can't get time off work. DH and I are excited for this new adventure with it just being the two of us. Relaxing by the pool, leisurely walks through the parks or the resort.....sounds like a fabulous vacation to me. Only five more days till our trip. :woohoo:

No worries, we'll be taking DD next year when she can get time off work.
