FAQ for Disneyland Brides

How much do they charge for cake?

Kaylars, if you are asking about cake with the Escape package, it is included in the all inclusive $5000 price tag. For Wishes weddings, it varies on how elaborate your design is but starts at $8 per person.

Thank you Mindyjoy, we're going with the wishes. We really want the disney "film" strip cake I've seen on Pinterest, it's not crazy in cake design work just sugar paper. Hopefully they don't charge too much :worried:

Weddings are another one of my addictions! LOL! So happy I found this thread!!! It makes me so excited even though I have absolutely no idea when I will be getting married! Lol.

However, I do know, that when that day comes, it will be at Disney! I prefer Disneyland because... well I live less than an hour away and so does most of my family. Haha.

My dream come true would be to get married in front of the castle  But I will NEVER have $100,000+ to spend on something like that :/ Unless of course I win the lotto :rotfl:

Thank you all for the wonderful information!!!

Hi guys!

Okay, So I'm not engaged but my boyfriend and I will be soon and my mother-in-law really wants us to get married at Disney. Don't get me wrong I love everything Disney but I was already married once at WDW and it was beautiful (not so much the marriage :rotfl:). So, I'm hoping to compromise with her and have it at Disneyland but honestly I would really love to have my wedding in Downtown Chicago. My problem is they will be paying for all of the wedding (my parents unfortunately can only help here and there) so I really do not want to dissppoint her. So here I am reading everyone else's experiences and questions.

So far, I'm liking the idea of our ceremony in front of the castle and then the reception in front of It's a Small World ride. We will most likely have around 100 guests. The theme I'm thinking is a vintage travel theme as my boyfriend and I love to travel.

I wonder if you can have the ceremony or reception anywhere else in the theme park? In front of the Haunted Mansion, New Orleans Square, Tower of Terror? As much of the idea of the castke being our back-drop, I'm not much of a princess kind of girl.

Thanks for hearing me out.

Wow! I wish I had the money to get married inside the park! You lucky girl! Lol.

Really though, your future MIL should compromise. In the end it's your wedding not hers. Get married where you want and maybe throw in some Disney touches to make her happy :)

As far as I know the castle and small world are the only locations inside Disneyland that they use for weddings but definitely call then and ask. Sounds like your family's got the money to pull something magical off :) Good luck and definitely keep us posted!

Glad I found this thread! My BF and I are recently engaged and planning a wedding at DLR. :cool1: I have contacted Disney and gotten all sorts of information emailed to me. :surfweb: Next week we are driving to DL to look at the venues and to make a selection so I can get our contract set up.:banana:

Congrats! That's awesome! Let us know how everything goes! :)

Has anyone gotten married at the grand California adventure hotel?!? We are having our wedding (hopefully) on April 16th 2015 and would like ANY additional information than what is already posted on the website... Ie: Taxes, clean up fees etc. As we can't officially book until 6 months away' which is in October... :( ~boo sauce~ We are very budget conscious and we plan on spending with all the extras around 20,000 on an escape wedding with 18ppl at Disneyland!! Thanks guys!!

I'm not 100% sure on the time allotted for Escape receptions, but from what I've heard there's time for dancing after lunch/dinner. For the escape meal you get your choice of a chicken dish, steak dish, or vegetarian option. “Love’s First Kiss” Artisan Bread Basket Petite Mache, Young Frisée, Sun‐Dried Cherries, Toasted Pecans, with Port Wine Glaze & Shallot –Lime Vinaigrette Roasted Meyer Lemon Chicken Breast with Garlic Jus Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes Asparagus Spears, Carrots, & Squash Tahitian Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée with Seasonal Berries Freshly Brewed Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, & Specialty Teas OR “Dreams Come True” Artisan Bread Basket Baby Field Greens, Sweet Currant Tomatoes, & Orange Supremes with Toasted Pine Nut Dressing Mustard Crusted New York Steak with Merlot Sauce Butter Braised Carrots, Green Beans, & Portuguese Chorizo Mashed Potatoes White and Dark Chocolate Dipped Strawberries (3) Freshly Brewed Coffee, Decaffeinated Coffee, & Specialty Teas I don't think there are meal substitutions, but you could certainly ask if you could do a brunch buffet instead of a plated meal. I believe the earliest Escape ceremonies are at 10am, so by the time people are seated for the reception it's considered lunchtime.

They give you four hours total. So 30mins for the ceremony and 3.5hrs for the reception. If you're planning on going in the park after you can NOT wear any wedding dresses or fancy attire while visiting inside the park! ~rough~ but now that I think about it of course this makes sense! :giddy with excitement about my disney wedding: :)

If you are looking into an Escape package, there are three locations at the Grand Californian Hotel: The Wedding Garden, the Parkview Terrace, and the Brisa Courtyard. What additional information would you like to know?

Here is an Escape wedding at The Wedding Garden and reception in Wisteria Room, if that helps: http://www.budgetfairytale.com/2013...ncess-and-the-frog-disneyland-escape-wedding/

The $5000 (higher without a room block or for Fri/Sun weddings) is all inclusive meaning it includes tax and tip. Some of your "extras" will be charged tax and tip ("service fee" as Disney calls it) if appropriate. A good rule of thumb is to add 30% to the base price of all your extras so you won't be surprised when you get the estimated budget. There is generally no separate clean-up fee UNLESS you make a huge, huge mess (beyond the mess of a "normal" wedding) or you bring in your own DIY items (for example, your own rose petals on the aisle) and you want Disney to clean it up for you ... then they will charge a clean up fee.

Hope this helps! Congrats on your upcoming Disneyland wedding! :yay:

Hi all! Glad to be able to officially post on this thread, I've lurked many times in the past years, lol. I'm very recently engaged and, of course, looking into the possibility of a Disneyland wedding. I'm thinking it still may be too expensive for us due to the amount of people we'd want, but still trying to figure out if it's plausible.

I see the link to FB group - does it not exist anymore? :( Also, somewhere here in this forum I saw a reference to the disneybrides .com forum, but you need to "name drop" to get in, and I can't find the person who posted you could use their name. Anyone a member who wouldn't mind "sponsoring" me? I promise I'm a very nice person who won't bring shame to your family, lol (Disney reference! haha).

Anyway, I'll be watching this thread! Thanks for all the information thus far!

This may be a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer. With Disneyland weddings do they give you and your groom annual passes, like they do for Disney World?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to give an update. I'm having the Escape Wedding package at the grand Californian on October 2nd. With additions to the package it will cost 7500. Not too shabby. We have 16 confirmed guests at this time so that will be a nice little group. It should be loads of fun.

Congrats! The Grand is a beautiful venue for a wedding (but I'm slightly biased!) :thumbsup2

Thanks ladies...I'm pretty fired up about the location too. The terrace is very snazzy. Currently working on playlists for the reception and ceremony. party:
