(CLOSED) Disney's BOARDWALK INN and VILLAS INFORMATION THREAD

Alrighty, hoping for a RO discount for our stay in September during F&W. AND if that happens, I'm going CL and no DP. Are there rooms in Deluxe CL with King beds?

I didn't think they do, but then I was reading info about the activity center and it mentioned renting DVDs for your room and I watched a video tour of a standard room online and it looked like they had one.

Any room at the Boardwalk VILLAS will have a DVD player as those are DVC rooms. I don't know about Boardwalk INN. The Disney website, when looking at various 'places to stay' has the Community Hall (where you'd get the DVDs) under the recreation listing for the Villas but not for the Inn. Though the pictures of the standard room at the Inn certainly look like they have a skinny DVD player underneath the TV set, it's definitely not listed in the amenities like it is specifically listed for the Villas.

There are no deluxe club level with a king bed.....or so I was told.

We stayed in a standard room at BWI last June and we had a DVD player in the room.

My apologies for not multi-quoting:flower3:. We're on vacation and have a horseback ride coming up here soon. I did manage to update the BoardWalk Bulletin in post 1 with everyone's dates, but samnbilly, I need your dates.

Welcome to all our new posters and Kerry, I'd like to know more, too about why the Innkeeper's Club rehab won't be very extensive. What did you find out about the renovation?

A horseback ride sounds like fun. I hope you are enjoying your vacation.:goodvibes

I love the deluxe CL at the BWI, this year will be our 3rd in a row. There is something about sitting on the balcony watching the entertainer’s. Also looking out of the window at the BC and YC with all the lights on. Makes me smile just thinking about it.

Thanks!:thumbsup2 Do you know if the pull out sleeper is as comfortable as one of the day beds?

I don't know much, because the cast members don't really know how much is getting done. The lounge will probably just get a soft makeover, nothing big like originally planned. The rooms are being done over as are the bathrooms.

The guests are not the only ones that are disappointed. The cast knows that there are major complaints about things there, but the powers that be don't seem to have the money to do the upgrades originally planned. We will just have to see what the final outcome is.

I will say I will never stay in a first floor room again!! The musty smells was horrible.

Has anyone here tried Big River Grille? I'm thinking of trying it for dinner one night of our upcoming trip since it's right on the Boardwalk. I'm wondering how the food is and also how hard it is to get a table since they don't take reservations...

You may find mixed reviews. We had a problem with the service a few years ago. We decided to give it another chance and we had great service and great food back in Dec. DH ordered salmon and still raves about it.

We've been a few times. Alway had a great meal, hamburgers, meatloaf and salmon have all been very good. Service has been good too. Close to the best burger I've ever had.

Thank you both! I think we might be ready for a good burger since the quick service ones are so bad :( and I want to enjoy at least on evening on the boardwalk :)
