So excited :yay: I just paid off my trip :cool1:. I'm already to go , is it too soon to start packing?

This is what I have in the FAQ, but I'm not sure if this info is current

Beach Club Villa 60 Day Check In:

Room Request Options-Choose 2 out of the four listed:

Near Elevator
Lower Floor
Woods View
Larger Balcony*

Can anyone who has stayed recently chime in and let us know if these are still the options given.

* As far as I know, all of the rooms at BCV have full balconies. Are there some balconies larger than others at BCV?

Thanks natebenma! The fewer options that DH has to choose from, the better Life is! ;)

You will have at least one balcony when staying at the BCV's. All of the BCV studios have balconies. All of the villas have a balcony off the livingroom. Most, but not all, of the master bedrooms have a balcony. Some of the balconies are bigger than others, depending on what floor you are on and location.

Here is a photo that I've copied from the photo thread and you can see the different size balconies and the master bedrooms that just have a window instead of a balcony.

By the way, this is the quiet pool at the villas which BC guests can use. When SAB is too crowded and noisy for us, we like to go over to this pool. :)

Great photo and information Wood Nymph! It's nice to know that even studios have balconies as that is the way we are leaning since it will be only DH & myself.

Thanks so much! :thumbsup2

Here's another shot of the balconies at BCV's I made in 2013. First floor=patio. Second floor=large balcony all the way across. We were on the third floor. No balcony in bedrooms but a larger one in living room. And fourth floor=three small balconies each.

And guess what. This layout is not the same throughout. We were on the road side this year (Rm 352) and there different layouts on the other floors.

I doubt if the architect that designed this place had any idea how much trouble he/she was going to cause us…..

Last I knew, the washers and dryers in the laundry room were coin operated, but I don't know if that has changed. Has anyone done laundry at the Y&B in the past month?

.

Pick me, pick me!!! It's seldom if ever I can offer any useful information because you are such an informational bunch, but this one I've got and it doesn't look like it's been answered yet!!! We stayed at the BC last week and YES, the washers and dryers were coin operated. $2 per load.

All good - no need for all that worry at all :lmao:

Pay them no heed whatsoever sure they've not a clue what they're talking about these naysayers :lmao:

I feel you! The BEST time ever was when my two were little. I remember them sound asleep in their strollers while my DH and I had a beer at Rose & Crown while watching the Tapestry of Nations Parade go by November of 1999. I loved that parade!

My youngest DS was only 5 or 6 months old the first time we went to Disney. The older kids in our group were getting their pictures taken with Mickey and Friends and Goofy motioned for me to bring over the baby. He sat down on the ground and held him for a photo. It was awesome and you can see that my little guy absolutely LOVED it.

I'm more worried :worried:about going back this Summer with teenagers!:rolleyes2

Thanks natebenma and luvpoohandcompany for the tea info. I'll keep my eyes on this thread in case anyone comes up with more info. (especially regarding the cups/lids in room to take hot bevs to go)

We were at BC last week. I remember seeing tea in the room, but not 100% certain what the "flavors" were. It wasn't a huge selection. Just a few tea bags in a basket. I don't remember seeing cups/lids in the room and I'll kick myself if they were there because I went to the Marketplace every morning to ask for a cup so I could fill it with hot water for DH's oatmeal. We were not on the dining plan so didn't have the refillable mugs. Every morning that I went to the Marketplace for a cup, it just so happened I bought something as well. Even still, I was a little nervous what would happen the first time I asked for a cup. On the last day, I didn't need to buy anything so I simply asked for the cup and I was told they aren't supposed to give out cups unless a purchase is made. She gave me the cup anyway, even after I said I don't have a problem buying something if that's the rule.

As others have mentioned, the Beach & Yacht Club rooms were last renovated in 2009. BC first, then YC.

I haven't seen widespread comments here on this thread about the condition of the rooms at either resort. Some of the hallways definitely need to be redone (BC CL floor, I'm looking at YOU!), but I have not witnessed or heard about the rooms being run-down.

.

No idea about the laundry just wanted to say congrats on 30 years and your upcoming BC stay. This is a great thread so ask away! :-)

thank you!!!! :thumbsup2

You never know what turn your life may take. I am thankful that I am still here to feel the aches and pains.

Wow!! So happy you are going to be ok! Not the kind of thing one wants to read when they finally check back in on the thread!! I hope you are feeling better!

I'm back!!! Had a great time in Port St. Lucie for mets spring training... Then headed on over to Disney Vero Beach for 5 days on the beach in the warm warm warm sun!! I spent most mornings on the beach and then afternoons at the pool.. perfect combination of relaxation for sure!! I left Vero this morning just beating the severe thunderstorms and tornado watches headed back to NYC to the 20's... Glad to be home, but sure am missing the sun, sand and warmth!!

Just finished catching up on the 15ish pages I missed while gone. I brought my laptop, but didn't check in once!

Now I'm counting down to my DH official retirement date of July 1, 2014 and the the BIG move to Dallas the beginning of September!!! Then it's off for retirement fun at BLT just because/YC cl for F&W festival/AKL cl to wind down. The best part is DH is excited about this trip!! I think I did a great job selling him on Disney on his first trip to the world last September!!

Sounds like you are going to have the best summer and fall ever!!

We are official! End of August WhOO HOO!:jumping1:
Can anyone confirm if a daybed is an important request or do most standard rooms come with one? My two boys will not and should not sleep together. No one will get any sleep if we attempt that debacle. My top requests for a room at YC is close to BC/stormalong bay, upper floor and of course that daybed. I believe a roll away would fit but does anyone have any recommendations for the room requests I have priority wise?

What a gorgeous photo !
I love those unexpected magical moments that only Disney can make happen pixiedust:

My sister and a friend are going to WDW at the same time as us, we'll overlap for three full days, and we are making plans together for Cape May and lots of Flower and Garden fun. She is also willing to try dinner at La Hacienda, a first time for all of us. :)

Has anyone been to the Atlantic Dance Hall or to Jellyrolls? We have never been to either of these places in spite of staying at an Epcot resort more than ten times (I've lost count) and don't know much about them. Can anyone fill me in about these places?
