Yeah it was AMAZING!!!! They have a dessert like it in the french bakery so once they inevitably change this dessert like they do with most desserts at the castle it is a nice backup :)

If the "dessert like it in the French bakery" is the Duo au Chocolat... Oh, my gosh, that was my "food find of the trip" this year! White chocolate and dark chocolate mousse on a little layer of chocolate cake, all covered in chocolate... :lovestruc

Yeah it was Duo au Chocolat :) If you liked that you would love this! I thought this dessert applied nicely with the castle theme as well which is something I find most of their desserts don't do

Dinner at Sanaa:

Tomato soup with paneer cheese

Bread service with garlic ginger naan, spiced naan, onion kulcha. Accompaniments were garlic pickle, spicy-jalapeno lime pickle, and coriander chutney.

Paneer tikka, five grain rice pilaf, and spicy peas, chickpeas, and potatoes

Peanut butter brownie from Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge

Time for some Disneyland pics. Here are the few that I have been able to upload recently. These are from our trip 2/9 -14.

We arrived at the Grand Californian at 2 pm. After settling in, we strolled through DTD down to Trader Sam's at the Disneyland Hotel. It was drink:30...

We enjoyed a Shrunken Zombie Head and Krakatoa Punch in souvenir glasses. They cost $18 each but refills were cheaper...and there WERE refills.;)

We opted for the PuPu Platter (I don't care how old or mature you are...that still sounds weird). It consisted of Sweet and Spicy Asian Wings, Tamarind-glazed Pork "wings", Panko-crusted Long beans, and Papaya slaw($16)

Sorry for the blurry pic....damn those SZHs!!

The pork "wings" were the standout to us, but it was overall very satisfying.

We also enjoyed the Ahi Poke which we thought was great. ($10)

Later that night we enjoyed a couple or sooooo drinks outside our hotel at The Uva Bar (awesome spot, BTW). ($60+:rolleyes1)

Then it was back to the GC to check out DCA from the private 6th floor observation deck...

The next morning we were off to Disneyland...

We had lunch at Cafe Orleans...

I had the Gumbo. I thought it was pretty good. ($9)

DW decided to enjoy, what we would soon discover, a "cup" of French Onion soup for the same $9 price point...

53_zps670f6c40.jpg

It was tasty...but not $9/cup tasty.

We also shared the Pommes Frites. The cajun remoulade went perfectly with "fries topped with parm and garlic". :thumbsup2

We ended our day in DCA where we had "dinner" at The Cove Bar. We enjoyed a Long Island Ice Tea and Pim's Punch...

We ate the Lobster Nachos ($13.50). They were good as always, but the portion is much less since we were last there...

Just chilling out at the Cove Bar at sunset...WOC is coming later...

Our next meal was lunch at Uva Bar the following day...

We enjoyed the Tuna Tartar Tacos ($14). These were really good and had a "ton" of tuna on them compared to ones we've had other places...

81_zps959548b5.jpg

Next up was the Pulled Pork Flatbread. ($15) This was outstanding!

82_zps6cbb360c.jpg

We also shared Shi****o peppers, available as a side ($7).Mmmmmmmmmm....highly recommended!

Edit...apparently S H I S H I T O T O peppers is a bad word here. :) Just so we are all clear...they weren't **** peppers.

Was the Cove Bar a good place to sit and watch WOC? It looks like you had a pretty good view.

How early did you arrive to get seats? Did you have to wait?

Is this somewhere that would be friendly to (older) kids? I will have a preteen and a teen traveling with me.

Did you feel pressured to "move along" once you were done eating? Or did they seem to not mind if you used this as your viewing spot?

Thanks!

Only the first pic that doesn't include food or drink in that post is from our table at the Cove Bar. The viewing from that area would not be advised. What you see in the next two pics from that post are from one of the BLUE sections of the WOC FP area (along the bridge leading up to Ariel's Grotto/Cove Bar).

FYI...Blue FP for WOC are the first handed out. To get one just head over to the FP distribution next to Grizzly River before 10-10:30 am and you will get a BLUE FP section for WOC. It isn't connected to the regular FP so you can pull others immediately afterwards (just in case you weren't aware of that :))
