Now that Disney has released the spring discounts, I'm thinking of upgrading. Does anyone have any experience with the Beach Club Villas? We're looking to go from a standard room to a one bedroom. Is it worth the upgrade?

In looking at the room number map for BC, where is the Concierge lounge located? What room number is it by? I see it on the YC map but not on the BC map.

thanks

Where did you find a room number map for BC? I've been looking for one.

Post #8 of this thread has the map of room numbers for BC. Scroll down past the section on daybeds. It's labeled "zone map". I'm having technical issues accessing it from my iPad.

We stayed in room 5666 last year and our room was about 30 steps from the CL lounge.

Our summer vacations are booked. Jeanne and Lily arrive on 7/13 and go back on 7/29.

On 7/15, we are going to the Cabins for two nights. Golf cart is rented!

on 7/21, we check into the Grand Floridian for four nights.

We'll be hitting Typhoon Lagoon at least twice and will be doing the parks in the mornings only (we don't do the parks in the summer any time but mornings) during the time we are at home so when we are at the Cabins and the Grand, we will be enjoying the resorts/pools!!!

Thanks! Is that near the elevator?

I am sure I overlooked this, but I was hoping for some advice. We booked a standard club level room but I was looking for some recommendations on room requests. I know we booked standard, but one can always hope for a better view right? When we stayed at WL this was our view:

It wasn't the end of the world, but we would like a little better of a view this time. Should we pay the cost of upgrading, or are there standard view rooms at the YC, CL, that aren't horrible?

Also, we have never stayed CL before. What exactly do the IPO's do for you? I want to plan a lot of dining (including CRT and an anniversary dinner), the BBB, and possibly a pirate cruise. Can they do all this? I am completely clueless to the advantages of Club Level.

Thank you so much in advance!

Definitely upgrade yourself to at least a Garden View if a view is important. A standard view at the Y&B is a guaranteed view of a roof or parking lot. A garden view is not much more money and at least you will look at something green ... although it would be dense woods ... but better than a roof or parking lot IMO.

Our CL room last year was SV and we overlooked the front ( or is it back) entrance of BC.....where the ME drop-off is. We were able to see Spaceship Earth and some fireworks from our room. We weren't able to book a WV or GV room because we have 5 people in our family.

The IPO will book your dining reservations and any other activities you wish. We had them book our Wishes Dessert Party and we had the best table in the house! When you are there, the CL CM's check you in to your rooms and can answer most questions for you.

If you're staying at BCV on cash, you don't lose out on any privileges or amenities related to the room itself.

DVC members get discounts on some restaurants, tours, etc. We get a 10% discount on all merchandise purchased at locations at WDW that are owned & operated by Disney. We get a discount on the membership fee if we join Owners Locker (they store stuff in the Orlando area so people don't have to bring it back and forth). We get free DVD rentals at the community hall or in the hotel itself if there is no community hall.

We don't get free dining.

We probably have the advantage when it comes to booking rooms. Since BCV is my home resort, I can book there 11 months ahead on points. I don't think you can book 11 months ahead on cash. And there are only so many rooms allocated to cash. Additional rooms only become available if DVC members use their points to book outside the Disney system. So if you want a 2-bedroom with 2 queen beds in the second bedroom at BCV during Food & Wine -- you may find that they are never available to book with cash.

Excellent information - thanks so much for the details! I am definitely a planner and like to book as far in advance as possible. Knowing that BCV studios could be limited (looking at the week before Thanksgiving in 2015), I will set my expectations for a BC room as a fall back.

DH will never know the difference. If we end up with the studio, "look honey, we got upgraded".... :rolleyes1

My Mom/TA is faxing in my room request today for BC Garden view. Our requests are: full balcony, close access to Epcot. My parents decided to join us for 3 nights but she cannot get a BC room (at least not with the TA discount), so she booked a Water/Lagoon View at YC. She is going to keep checking back to try for BC, to be closer to us, but if she remains at YC, would it be reasonable for her to request a room closest to BC? Being YC I understand they would already have a full balcony and should have a great view based on the category of booking so no requests needed there. What might they get if they request "closest to BC"?

Since to walk to the BC you have to go out the back door, "close to lobby" request would be the closest you can get to the BC.

Thanks Teena! I am about to call and upgrade from YCSV for our family of five to a deluxe BC room. If I would really only be unhappy with the 2 standing room only balcony rooms, what do you suggest I use as my room request?

Now that Disney has released the spring discounts, I'm thinking of upgrading. Does anyone have any experience with the Beach Club Villas? We're looking to go from a standard room to a one bedroom. Is it worth the upgrade?

In my opinion, as a BCV owner, it is totally worth the upgrade. I tell you up front that I am an owner, because I am biased.
That said, with a 1 bedroom Villa you will have a Master bedroom with a king size bed and an easy chair. The bathroom has a whirlpool tub as well as a separate walk in shower. There is a stackable washer and dryer, which enables you to pack less.
You will have a full size,, fully equipped kitchen which we love. Although I don't cook meals on vacation, we order supplies from wegoshop.com and it is great. They deliver right to the Villa. We eat a quick breakfast in the morning as we get ready for the day and we have snacks and adult beverages available throughout the stay. We order fruit, juice, coffee, breakfast pasteries, water, soda, beer, wine, cheese and crackers and other snack items.
You will have a living room with a queen size sleep sofa and an easy chair. There is a dining area with table and chairs. You will have a generous balconey.
It is important to remember that the Villas have a "theme" and are decorated to that theme. Some have commented that the Villas look dated, especially i9n comparison to the BC hotel rooms. The reality is, they are not decorated in the hotel anywhere USA elegant style. If this bothers you the Villa might not be for you.
As a cash visitor booking through CRO you will receive all of the amenities as if you were a hotel guest, including daily housekeeping.
I love the Villas and once you have stayed in a 1 BR Villa you will never want to go back to a regular hotel room
Have a Great Trip

:wave2: Hi there - still learning the lingo. CRO? Is this a website or service for booking DVC rooms if not a DVC member? And if so, do we still get other Disney perks such as DME? Thanks...
