For tonights dinner we had to take a boat ride. So we headed down to the BLT dock and waited for a boat to take us over to Fort Wilderness. Tonight we were going to Hoop Dee Doo Revue! We arrived at Fort Wilderness and just enjoyed the tranquility of the place as we waited for our dinner.
We browsed a bit in the shop. They had some really cute resort specific merchandise here.
DH was very excited because they actually had Lone Ranger merchandise. (Remember he is the only person I know who actually saw that movie twice.) He actually bought this badge.
We had reserved Category 3 seating which is normally in the balcony. However, because it wasnt a full show we were upgraded to Category 2. This meant we were at the back of the main level. This was great for us, but I dont think it would have been worth the cost of an upgrade if wed paid for it. Anyway, the show began and with it our dinner.
The most memorable part of dinner for me was Wendys reaction to the fried chicken. She took a bite out of it and said with utter shock, Is that a bone? Is there a bone in my chicken? I laughed and said, Yes that is exactly what it is. She said, No. There is an actual bone in my chicken! I couldnt stop laughing. I guess it is true that all we ever eat is boneless chicken (either nuggets or breasts), but I didnt realize she had never had chicken with bones. I guess bones in chicken are kind of like rotary phones. Kids today just dont know what to do with them. Anyway while I was laughing at this there was a show going on. It was a fun show too. Here are a few pictures.
It isnt something well do every trip, but we may take the boys back sometime. After dinner was over we took another lovely boat ride back to Bay Lake Tower. Then we decided a night in the Magic Kingdom was in order. I dont remember too many details about this evening, but Im sure we had a grand time. We watched the fireworks from a table sitting outside Pinnochio Village Haus and it was DHs favorite firework viewing spot ever. It was pretty cool how fireworks went off all around us. It was like watching a tennis game trying to keep up. Plus it was uncrowded and we had a table. In addition we shared this snack during it.
So it was a pretty good spot even if the castle wasnt the backdrop. We also watched the late Electrical Parade this evening. I know this because we have these pictures.
After the parade, the park was closed so we headed toward the exit, but as we headed out I realized we hadnt gotten a castle picture yet with DH. So we stopped and posed for a quick picture.
It was a great way to end Part one of our Disney vacation. We were leaving the next day, but for once it really wasnt sad because after a beach vacation we still had part two ahead of us.
