Have a wonderful, wonderful magic-filled trip! :)

My work is crazy busy right now. Not sure I'm going to have everything done before I go...:worried:

But I want to get away so badly and share my happy place with Dad! He is going to get a huge kick out of Pop Century! :goodvibes

:wave2:

I can't stop thinking about what its going to be like holding my dad's hand as we walk down Main St and see the castle together for the first time! Goosebumps! pixiedust:pixiedust:

Hit up a PP photgrapher....you need a pic with you and your dad on main street with.the castle in the background. :)

I know this isn't exactly on topic, but this thread gets a lot of traffic. Does anyone have info on the Mickey flash drives with MyMagic+ info that a couple people have reported receiving?

Lol...I just read that, & commented, about those on another thread. I've never heard of them. I just got back and was never offered one either. So I'm interested to see if anyone else has heard about these too.

I don't think that's the way it's working. We are staying in the Orlando area for 14 nights, 7 onsite at Pop our 10 MYW tickets give us 10 days in the parks over the whole time we are there but I can only booked FP+ for the duration of our stay so we will still have 3 days where I would hope to use one of the Fastpass systems when we are staying off site but it doesn't look like we will be able to - unless what's happening with the Swan/Dolphin will work for us?. Not good given we are staying over Christmas and the new year and the parks will be extra busy. We have a package booked with tickets and dining for the 7 days at Pop.

Are my only options to look at moving resort? One other thing we were thinking of was upgrading to AP's as we might get to come back in the summer, if we did this then would we get paper/plastic tickets as well and have access to the normal FP system to?

What I understand from these boards is that FP+ is tied to your ticket, but is only "activated" by a resort stay. But it's for the length of the ticket. Now, I don't have first hand experience of this. But AP holders that have booked a resort stay during the testing period can now make FP+ reservations any day until the AP expires (up to 60 days in advance).

We leave in exactly 2 weeks from today, yay!! I have a few questions for everyone. This will be our first Pop visit.

1. When you say the KTTW cards work in the machines; are you talking about the plastic cards we got with Magic Your Way packages or something else?

2. Dole Whips - are they really dairy free? Does anyone have the nutritional information for them? Not to sound dorky, but I just lost 20 lbs. and I don't want to put it all back on and I'm supposed to be limiting my sugar intake.

3. I handicapped and need a standard room location on the first floor, closest to a parking lot and to the main building. Any suggestions on what building & room I should request, or atleast, the building?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi!
To answer your questions, yes the KTTW card is the plastic card that held tickets, meals and served as your room key.

Dole whips, I did read that are considered dairy free (also gluten free, fat free). Of course you know that the taste has to be from something (sugar). Even saying that you are are vacation. And with all the walking one does at disney, get one and share so you are not tempted to eat it all:. BTW, congrats to you on your weight loss :)

Ok, medical need for first floor, close to parking, main area. Bldg. one (backside, parking lot is Std on one side). Also bldg. 9 the "T" part closest to Classic Hall (close to the 90s parking and busing too). They both might work.

Stitchlovestink, is an expert on HC rooms so if you have questions in that regard fire away, she's sure to answer :)

Yesterday was our first park day & we went to MK. Day went great. Had just a quick snack for breakfast as we had BoG FP at 11:00am. BOG was amazing. The braised pork was so tender & the masters cupcake was delicious. We had FP+ for space mountain, haunted mansion & big thunder railroad. Was a little disappointed that we couldn't get KTTW cards to pull other FPs like all the other resorts but in all honesty the standby lines were always 10 mins, and that was for the headliners. Hopefully it will hold up like that all week, especially at HS.

This is our 4th trip & I had never previously tried a Dole Whip until yesterday. I don't know what was wrong with me but I'm so glad I did. It was so refreshing since it was so hot. We went to 'Ohanas for dinner & to be honest I didn't enjoy as much as I thought I would. I did love the dumplings & bread pudding & the little cupcake they gave me for my birthday though. My DH insisted that I try the Lapu Lapu since it was my birthday & that thing is soooo strong.

We went back to MK for a little bit after, was able to ride more rides with a short standby line & then headed back to POP. We had just missed the bus for POP so decided to catch AoA's bus & time the walk back to our room. We are in Building 1, room 1161, right behind the laundry building & it took us 10 mins to walk. Not sure if it's worth it but hey you never know unless you try. :)

All in all yesterday was a great day & expect today to be as well. :)

Just a quick question, does anyone know if there is a DTD bus from AK now, I thought I read a little while ago that there was. Hope everyone has a great day. :)

I just found this "new" thread! I'm going to be at Pop in 23 days! My daughters (ages 10 & 12) have stayed there several times and love it - we call it our "home". They love the tie dye cheesecake too. What's this I hear that it's no longer a slice but rather served in a cup? I can't imagine what that would even look like? lol

The cheesecake (all over WDW) is now in a cup, but I found it to still be rather tasty. Nothing extraordinary, but not at all weird or bad. Just your average tasty cheesecake, but in a cup.

By the way, Pop has both colorful cheesecake and regular non-colored cheesecake. They both tasted the same, so I stuck with the non colored to get less food coloring :scratchin

Only one HUGE deception : Tye-Die Cheesecake... Omg, it was discussting. I really hated it. Pretty much just cheese, almost no cake...

Silly question: Have you actually had cheesecake before? Because cheesecake isn't really cake, it's almost all cream cheese, sugar, and eggs other than the bottom crust. The Pop cheesecake is basically like every other typical cheesecake I've had before.

I was wondering the same thing..

I will be checking into POP for our very 1st WDW trip in 11 days and can't wait!

This is probably a silly question, but I just saw that the extra magic hours were extended one night of my stay (to 1am)

Is it safe to assume the resort buses will run to 1am?

I'll be solo on that night and kind of nervous about having to get a cab if the bus isn't running late

Same check in here in 11 days. Well, 10 days and a wakeup, we check in on November 30th. So looking forward to getting back to POP, my wife and I just loved it there, such a nice resort.

Look for the guy with the brown packpack with a lime green mickey on the back of it with the question "DO YOU DIS?" and that will be me.

Buses run 1 hour after park closes, so if the park closes at 1 am then they will run until 2 am.

The busses will continue running well after the parks close. You'll be fine relying on the bus. They don't want to strand anyone. Enjoy and don't worry.

can't wait to get to Pop and enjoy our little vacation...we are celebrating my mom's birthday and my best friends 2 new knees...Dec 3-9 now to get the whole magic bands thing worked out in my head...we are park hoppers but i think 3 FP+ will do for us a day! :thumbsup2

Exactly!! Those buses run until the parks are empty of all guests and all guests are back at their hotel...even if it's 2 1/2 hrs after the park closed! I have used the buses solo this late at night and have never felt unsafe and I am NOT a city girl...lol. the best part about using the buses VERY VERY late...as you exit and head to the bus stops, they will ask where you are going, and they will assign you to one of the closest bus stops and have a bus pick you up there!! ;) NO walking all the way out to that VERY last stop at MK!!! WooHoo!! ;) HTH!!

Thank you!

I am not a city girl either and still can't believe I am taking a solo trip. I think knowing I'm staying on site is helping me feel more comfortable about it. I was going to stay port Orleans French quarter but decided last minute to change to pop because I could stay 2 extra nights for the same price if I switched.

13 days!

We checked into POP Saturday around 12:30pm. The resort was PACKED which had me a bit nervous but everything is great! Our room was ready and we got exactly what we requested. Adjoining rooms, 70's building with lake view. The room is clean, new bedding and fridge. The resort is just as great as I remember from 2010 except the food court...it's much worse. I hated to eat there considering all the dinning options in WDW but with 3 small kids you just gotta do what's convenient sometimes. The selection sucks and the food just isn't good.
