I have a colleague who is in the world now, I told her that it should be a good time crowd wise. Fingers crossed....

How are the crowd levels right now? Anyone there this weekend who can comment?

I also have a personal interest as this will be the week that we visit next year. :cool1:

We just flew home this morning. We were there from October 24-27. It was my 10th visit, 4 of which were in June, July and August. I have never seen it that crowded before! I was expecting it since I've been watching the boards. It was our first trip without our kids since our honeymoon so we were more laid back with our approach. We used the FP+ and were able to ride all our favorites (some several times) by using strategy. I just feel that people that aren't familiar with Disney are really going to have problems. With that said, we won't go during this time of the year again.

I just got back. We were there the 19th-27th. We go during Oct. every year for fall break and I have never seen it this crowded before. Not sure what was up this year, but it definitely seemed worse than usual. Not what I expected for October at all.

Was there 10/18-10/25. This was our fourth trip. I've never seen the parks so crowded. We were able to have fun and experience most everything, but I won't go at that time again.

This is my 5th trip in October. I'd rate the crowds at about an 8. Much busier than years past.

Orlando School District had off October 24th and 25th.. Wonder if that was contributing to the larger crowds??

We were there 10/4-10/12 and the crowd levels were the same as in years past (maybe even more manageable). BUT our check-in date did not have Free Dining. It was week one of a two-week Fall Break for our Tennessee school. Our visit last year was also excluded from FD.

Wondering if a combination of Columbus Day, other Fall breaks and free dining contributed to the up-tick in crowd numbers for these past couple weeks ??

Yikes. I had been considering an October trip for next year to experience food and wine and MNSSHP but I've seen so many threads this week about how awful the crowds were. I'm either going to make it the last week of September into October or just pick some other time altogether after these reports.

We were there the 19th-26th. This was our third October trip. The 20th seemed busy but after that I thought the crowds were fine. We did two MNSSHP's and neither sold out like some of the parties earlier in the month. I suspected that Friday, the 25th was going to be awful because Orange County schools were out, but I was pleasantly surprised by the crowds in the MK both during the day and at the party that night. After the 20th, I didn't feel like the crowds were different from past Octobers at all, and Epcot on Monday actually seemed less busy to me than last year.

We're here right now. Yes, it's more crowded than our previous October trips, but we have found it to be manageable. We were at Epcot today. F & W was very busy, but very pleasant with no behavior problems witnessed. We did leave the park at around 5:00 so I can't speak for the evening. Weather is perfect. We will go again in Oct. but will try to avoid the FL school vacation and possibly free dining if that's possible. We were at Kidani which was also busy. Bus service was excellent. Longest wait for a bus at the resort or the parks was 10 minutes. All in all we had a good time.

Oy. Seems like no good time anymore?!? We did early February last time... The 1st I think in 2012 and the crowds were insane most days. :0( we were hoping a lighter crowd for last week of oct next year :0/

We were there from the 19th-26th. Crowds were not as high as our last trip (spring break 2012), BUT... The new FP+ really seemed to impact the headliners/rope drop.

Wow, didn't expect big crowds now. We'll be at MK tomorrow, HS on Wednesday and AK on Thursday. Will let you know mho of crowd levels for anyone interested in this week compared to last week.

We were there from the 18-25 for probably our 20th trip, 4th in October and it was much busier than we were expecting. For the first time we stayed off property so couldn't use FP+ which greatly affected what we could ride and which FP we could get. We found that standby lines were much longer than normal.

We were there the 20-25 and we won't be going back in October. It was the most crowds I have ever seen and we usually try to choose low crowd weeks. Without FP+, we would have been standing in 60 to 90 minute lines for the big rides and that is the exact reason we choose low season.

We were there this past weekend too, and I will agree that it was busier than this week the past 2 years, but certainly not as busy as Memorial Day weekend, for example. I would call the crowds a 4-6. We did feel that SOMETHIHG (probably FP+) is severely impacting the wait times for the headliner rides, though, at 9:30ish on Saturday morning, TT showed 80 minutes and Soarin 100, fp times were 6pm for TT and 9pm on Soarin. However, by about 4pm, Soarin had dropped down to 55 minutes and TT was at 35 minutes so it did level out in the afternoon somewhat (by that time of course no fp was available). We also were at the party Friday night and found that to be as fabulously manageable as always, Space Mountain was the longest wait and was 15 minutes, which is practically unheard of. We did all the candy trails/spots and left with something like 30 pounds of candy from the 4 of us and having walked on most of the rides all night. Now I will agree that world showcase was pretty packed by 11:30am or so.

JMO, but this is exactly what Disney wants you to believe. Of course, driving you away from the parks is not their intention.

Just returned, 19th-26th. We checked in 2 days before magic bands became available at our resort (SSR) and paid dearly for being one of/the last resort to do.

For example, we got to HS at 9:30 on Tuesday and FP for TSM were all distributed and the wait time was 120 minutes. For RRC, we pulled 5:30-6:30. We left after a couple attractions and an early lunch. The kids were mightily disappointed and I figured a change of venue would be good. Thankfully, it worked! We never hit Animal Kingdom, opting for more time at Blizzard Beach which was also a great choice. Magic Kingdom seemed much busier than expected as well.

We were there 2 years ago for the same week and rode all the headliners with fast pass or standby without waiting more than 15 mins. Such a huge change from the last experience.

I have to agree with everyone else.... we were there last week from 20th-24th and it was very crowded. We've been in October twice before and this is the worst I have seen it.
