Thank you so much...there is much debate at our home right now between having it at the Poly or GF but most of all just excited to be married for 25 years.:goodvibes

That is quite a milestone PolyAddict :goodvibes Truly you cant go wrong choosing either resort!

Sadly, I have no trips on the horizon at the moment - wish I did! My travel buddy, DD, is saving up her time off to come home at Christmas, so we'll have to wait and see if we can go after the first of the year, but before Spring Break.:scared: (Hopefully, the new HP section at USO will be open by then...shhh!;))

LOL about guessing which resort you'll be at...I wonder?!;)

Do you prefer SL in the spring and summer due to the proximity of the pool? We usually prefer staying in RPC (or club in general) when we know we won't be spending as much time at the parks, which tends to be in warmer weather.

Sorry about the no trips planned right now...Maybe when your DD is home for Christmas you can do some planning! BTW Im sure you are so happy that she will home..It gets harder as they get older..and have job commitments...

We do prefer SL in the warmer months for exactly those reasons...we are pool people..and love the convenience..so easy to go back and forth to the room..and the lounge..Properly attired of course!! ;) LOL...

And speaking of coffee at the GF... ;)

I've been reading posts about awful coffee around the parks/resorts and that's kind of a big deal for folks who really savor their coffee in the a.m. :upsidedow

Does the GF have the typical 4-cup coffee maker? Has anyone figured out how to bring their own grounds to use? I'm assuming there is a provided filter?

There is a one cupper in the room...Keurig if I remember correctly...:confused3 LOL..

Also, it looked like the problem they were fixing with the water play area is a drainage one.

Glad you enjoyed your trip...:goodvibes And thanks for filling us in on that...

ME just arrived!!!

Shhh I am waiting for WWOHP to open new ride too! Hopefully dd and I can do like last time. Start there then transfer to the World!US just doesn't compare.

Gotta love Mickey Mail! :)

We just paid off our 1st anniversary trip to the grand for December!!! We are getting veryyyyyy excited to stay there again... We stayed last December for our Disney wedding/honeymoon.

:dance3: What a wonderful way to celebrate your first anniversary!! Do you have a special dinner planned to help you celebrate?? Just a suggestion..You can arrange a private dining experience thru.. private dining...lol..and have dinner served in a variety of places on the GF grounds and be attended to by a butler...a nice way to spend a romantic evening...:lovestruc although...a window table in Narcoosees timed with the MK foreworks can be so nice too.... Whatever you do...enjoy!

I'm here, Blue. Been out of town for a few days (visiting my parents, and then on to Jekyll Island for a couple of nights).
I just finished catching up reading what everyone here has been chatting about. Looks like there are a few of us who like enjoying our resort and others, as opposed to being in the parks all day, every day, of our vacation!

We are about a month and a half away from our stay and getting more excited with each passing day!

 Hope you had a good visit with your parents... Not familiar with Jekyll Island..but I hope that you had a nice relaxing time... A month and a half!!!! :woohoo: The time is going to fly!!!

Count me in as one of those who like enjoying the resort as well. I love sitting in the lobby and listening to the music or sitting on the beach. It is so peaceful there!

When my mom was with us at the GF, she loved to sit in the lobby as well and watch people and listen to the music. The CMs would talk to her and that is why we have so many CMs friends from the GF. The year that my mom did not come with us due to illness, the CMs asked where she was. They sent their best to her. The next year when we went back, they asked again how she was doing. When I told them that she passed away, they actually cried and hugged me. The CMs have become part of our family over the years and that's another reason why I love the resort and spend so much time there.

MommyGina My condolences on the loss of your mom...so nice though that you got to spend time with her at the GF... I'm sure you have many wonderful memories...What a touching story...The GF really has such a wonderful group of CMs ...:grouphug:

MickeyNut So many things to consider...:scratchin We have often thought about DL too...the place where it all started! But then end up going with the tried and true...LOL...and we all know whre that is! ::yes::

Happy Saturday fellow GF fans! :goodvibes

You didn't know because I can't figure out how to do a vacation countdown! :scratchin We're going the first week of November, and I hope that at least some of the Christmas decorations will be beginning to appear!

I usually use myvacationcountdown.com, which is pretty easy to follow (and I am a computer challenged gal ). Your trip will be here before you know it :yay:.

I agree....DL would be great as it would be neat to see where everything started :wizard:. I started doing some research and I found myself in very unfamiliar territory. Planning a California/DL trip is not as easy as planning for WDW. I know we've been going to WDW for a long time and the more you go to the same place the easier it is each time to plan, but I don't remember my first trip to Disney World being as hard as what I've found DL to be....and in all honesty, planning our first WDW trip was pretty easy ;). Just with the little research I've done so far, DL and WDW are so VERY DIFFERENT that it makes DL very confusing :sad2: (at least to me).

this is a great group of disers on this thread.

:thumbsup2

Good Afternoon :wave2: Been a little under the weather with a sinus issue then I had a slight accident doing laundry
I have been watching youtube videos of the grand and found ones from our own ahcupcake and BethClayton:goodvibes

I can't believe I am finally getting to stay RPC:cloud9:

We have annual passes but I think I will find it hard to leave the lounge;)

Well except to catch last hours of F&W of course:woohoo:

Anybody have more pics? How about that balcony that kind of looks towards monorail entrance????:yay:
Glad you enjoyed my videos, the ones at AK were shot by my mom and she didn't quite know how to work the flip cam..
I remember my first RPC stay almost 20 yrs ago, we were in room 4404 and have stayed in that room several times since then but not since the re-catagorized those rooms to TPV..Sorry can't help with pics taken from any of those rooms, I have them but not on this computer or loaded into photobucket

I didn't see BethClaytons youtube video..I will have to check it out...I have seen ahcupcakes...Love the music she set to her video...I was lucky enough to be there at the same time that she was :wizard: Pixie dusted...and got to visit her in that beautiful suite...

ahcupcake and Grannyminnie Whatcha been up to ....:confused3
Blue I keep forgetting you were there as well as another message board friend, who is down there right now..Glad you like the music I just used what was available through the you tube edit feature.......Not much, been battling a sinus headache/infection

Hello, ahcupcake! :wave2: Sorry you've been under the weather with sinus misery...:flower3:

Hey Mickeynut, I might try the site you suggested and see if I can figure it out. Thanks..

Sorry you're not feeling well....sinus issues can be horrible ....hope you feel better soon :flower3:.

I see you tried it......love the ticker :goodvibes.

I surprised myself..I've tried to make tickers before, but to no avail.
When I get to the "copy and paste" step, that's where I get techno-challenged! :badpc: :lmao:

Slight laundry incident:rotfl: I managed to need 8 stitches from a slight laundry incident once. The handle on dryer broke and slit open my knuckle.

Yes, it would have been fun to meet another Diser~

Nice ticker. I finally made mine recently, I can bold and change color too!

I also use photobucket, but it takes so long:faint:

Last stop was to finally try multi-quote. Hope this works!

:wave2:Morning to rest I missed but multi quote is hard:worried:

Mickeynut1has been my inspiration. She manages to multi quote everywhere so quickly :worship:

You're not the only one . When I tried my first ticker I couldn't figure it out to save my life.....I had to have my son show me how to do it....and then it took me quite a few tries after that to get it right :rotfl::rotfl:. I am techno-challenged with computers and cell phones......my two DSs are constantly helping me, especially when it comes to my phone :rotfl2:.

Aww you're sweet....thank you :flower3:. Multi-quoting was something that took me a long time to learn......someone had to give me instructions on how to do it because I couldn't figure it out on my own :rotfl:. Looks like you have it down :thumbsup2.

Hello to everyone else :wave2:. Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Well, I may just have to be satisfied with figuring out the ticker thing! ;) Multi-quoting is probably out of my league if it took you several tries to master it, mickeynut.

As far as beautiful Sundays, this one has ranked near the top! :thumbsup2

Are the refrigerators all replaced now from the issue over the summer?

I can't answer this, but hopefully someone will be able to :).

LOL.....I couldn't figure out how to do it on my own, but after given instructions and practicing, I found it pretty easy ;). Down in the bottom right hand corner of each person's post (when you're logged in), there is a quote mark ("), click on that for each person you want to quote. When you have everyone you want to reply to, click on "post reply" and all the multi-quotes will appear. Post what you want for each one as you would for just one individual quote and then click "preview post" to see how it will appear in the thread. Once you're satisfied with the post, click "submit" and you're good to go :goodvibes.

trishadono - thank you for the kind words. I believe that my mom has been with me in spirit each time I visit the GF.

I can't wait to see the new Disney Vera Bradley designs. I wonder if Summer Lace will carry them? If anyone is at the GF now or going soon, would you please check?

It would be nice to have the cell phone wristlet. Maybe I should buy it for DD who always seems not to be able to hold her own phone and gives it to me with the rest of the items I have to carry for the entire family!

Thanks for the easy instructions, mickeynut. I'll play around and see if I can make it work.
