We are heading to the beach club for the 8th September. I have downloaded the my disney experience app to my iPhone but when I put our confirmation number in, it says it doesn't recognise it! We booked through wdw travel company and used the number in the email! Would we be too late to get our magic bands? If we get them I don't want to end up with the grey ones as we haven't been able to log on

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1

:cool1:

I don't really know the answer to your question about the magic bands- reposting to see if anyone has any helpful advice. Some have had luck by calling Disney's Tech Support- I don't have the number, but if someone is willing to share, please post.

:thumbsup2

A little change to the Be Our Guest listing please - Caseystigger and I will be staying at the BC on October 18-23rd now. THANKS! :)

Got it! I'll make the change.

:woohoo:

My wife and I will be staying at the Beach Club, Garden View, club level for 4 nights 10/14-10/18. Please add us to the Be Our Guest list.
We have annual passes from last year that expire Nov.4.
We love the Food and Wine festival and try to go annually!

I'll add you to the list

Hi! I am finally going to post in here. Basically I have posted in the general forum about my decision between the Poly and YC. I have been to the Poly before and I really loved it. Being on the monorail was great and we didn't wait to long for buses either. When we went my then 8 year old daughter had swine flu. So she spent most of the time at the resort :( It was hard and really the whole Disney thing was geared toward her . She was so excited and wanted to eat at the royal table like no ones business.

We had ressies there but she was so sick during..that she didn't enjoy it. Anyhow we spent a lot of time in the resort due to my daughters high fever. I loved the quick service downstairs(don't know what it was called). We got a yummy lunch there and brought it back to our room(we did not have dining plan). We were able to use the pool which was nice but we don't really care about a resort's pool as much as some. As long as their is water , my kids are fine.

So this year we are going in Nov. I could not get the Poly for the time frame I want to go . I could get it the week before Thanksgiving. But because oldest is a junior in high school, I am nervous about her missing 5 days of school. If I go the week of Thanksgiving (11-22 -11-28) then she would only miss Friday , Mon, Tues and half day on Wed. With the bulk being during thanksgiving week where they don't do anything anyway.

So the resort that I can do that week at is YC. I have had people tell me to stay away from Thanksgiving week . I have had people tell me Yc is kind of stuffy(my kids are older though 16, 11 , 9) , rundown and the buses are horrible. . But then again, I have people tell me the YC is really nice and I will love it.

Soooo I am here to hear what is awesome on the YC. I am going to the experts!!! Please tell me why you love the YC. I have to make my decision before the weekend is over ....

Thank you so much! I am so excited to hear from you! I have looked at the pictures and thought it was beautiful..More my kind of resort ..even more than the Poly... so I am wondering are there some bad rooms that people are talking about?

:welcome:

A few people have posted giving their impressions about the Yacht Club. I have only stayed at the Beach Club, which has similar attributes.

I love the location, the pool is awesome and the Cast Members are so friendly and helpful. Personally, the only issue I have with the bus service is the return bus from Downtown Disney- trips to MK and AK take approximately 15 minutes from the time you board the bus.

We have stayed club level, so we haven't had to deal with breakfast at the Marketplace and we generally find plenty of options for food- mostly because the World Showcase is right outside the doors (about a 5-7 minute walk)

I would not be concerned about a perceived "stuffiness" of the YC. It really is a family resort with all ages welcome.

Please let us know if you decide to book here.

I never log into MDE, but I did it on a whim 2 days ago and noticed that FP+ is available for our trip at the end of October...I linked my UT tickets and was able to make my selections! We are doing a split stay, with WL on the first half of the trip, so we are only eligible for FP+ during the 2nd half while we are are at BC. I usually can't wrap my head around the fact that our trip is going to happen, but this makes it seem a little more real :)

I'm hoping we get to spend some time at SAB, although it looks like I won't be ordering any sunken treasures as I unexpectedly found out last month that we're adding another little Disney lover to our family.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: thanks again to everyone who contributes to this thread, especially Dee!

Thank you for the kind words and

party: Congratulations!!! party:

Mickey Bars for Two!

I locked in Cali Grill as well for early October.

Looks like a happy happy Sushi crowd at Cali Grill.

Been to animal kingdom today the wait times were minimal, Kali river rapids was 5 minutes if that and we went on EE twice in a row and walks straight on, it's the first time I've been on it so got a shock when we started going backwards! Had dinner at Yak and Yeti which was nice. Just sat on the balcony before we go for a swim in SAB then hoping to go to MK for EMH if we can stay awake!
I've accessorised our elephant towel animal, today we got the animal on the left, I think its a sausage dog?

Glad you are having fun! Love the towel display.

Checked in a couple hours ago after driving from Minneapolis. my SV room is 4150 and overlooks the gazebo. Looking left from my balcony I see right across the lagoon at the boardwalk. Me thinks I was upgraded. Good start to the week. For real cribs for my twins and not pack and plays. They'll work. Magic bands opened the room and opened the entrance gate so 2 for 2. Testing them at Epcot later today

Have a wonderful trip!!!!!

With respect to the "stuffy" rep the YC gets, we are totally not stuffy people and did not find it uptight in the least. We did overhear a couple in the lounge discussing whether or not their VIP tour would be as good as the one they did with Catherine (Zeta Jones) and Michael (Douglas) last time.

Just started reading through this

I cannot wait to get there. Whole family & our 2 newbies going.

!st trip for my DGD, Autumn 5.:cool1::cool1:

1st on property trip for SO, never been the romance route on property. :rotfl2:

10/27 to 11/03, doing the MNSSHP!!!!

That's cool if you got an upgrade, hope I get one!
Can I ask about the cribs? Are they the wooden ones? And how old are your twins? Do they seem comfortable in them? Would I need to bring bedding?
My DD will have just turned 2 and i was not wanting a pack and play so was going to request a daybed but think she's still too young as she is still in her cot at home.
Thanks, have a great time and sorry for all the ?'s.
Nic

Oh my.... Why can't they just leave the the time alone. Lol. I think you could definitely make the 4:50 ( assuming you aren't terribly far from the airport). I wonder if you can call and get a real person with JetBlue and ask if this is normal?

Yep they are doing it to us & our flight are 2 months away!:furious: But they keep pushing our back, from 6am now it is 740am. :rolleyes1

On page 11 now!

Yay for an upgrade! We got one too but no water view. Magic Bands have been great so far. One or 2 glitches but nothing horrible. Always have worked in the parks it's paying that sometimes is an issue.

For those who are asking about SAB and magic bands, so far in 3 days we have only ever shown our magic bands. The wifi does not work well so they are not scanning them, but just letting us in. They've never asked to see our KTTW cards yet. We always bring them because sometimes paying for things at the pool, bands don't work well. It's hit or miss.

Now if this rain will stop, we were hoping for an afternoon at SAB and it started pouring as we stepped off the bus from AK.

On page 11 now!

Ours is in 94 days and they just changed so we leave early and arrive late with a 7 hour layover in Houston. I was able to switch to a direct out of SFO for no charge. Hopefully you have other options. Flying home out of Boston today.

I have no clue why YC would be considered more stuffy than BC. Basically identical other than the theming and Marketplace and Yachtsman.

CZJ really likes Sunken Treasures

I am 17 days away from our first stay at the YC. We also got our magic bands! Im excited to try them out. Im so homesick! I cannot wait to meet my family in disney!!!!!!!

Hoping it is just a passing shower.:)
