Hey everyone!

I thought rather than having a bunch of threads on the News and Rumors page, we could start a thread that would have everything in one. Now, I realize that there is no offfcial "Disney Parks" presence at the D23 show, but I figure there might be some interesting announcements that come out anyways.

I will try and maintain this first post with links to anything MAJOR, but feel free to post link to any news articles throughout the thread.

Doc McStuffins is supposed to make an appearance Sunday from 10-1200 at the Disney Channel Booth. If anyone can snap a picture, I would appreciate it! Hoping that means she might come to the parks!

I am a little nervous about their Tomorrowland plans regarding Star Wars. now, I LOVE me some Star Wars, don't get me wrong, but "Star Warssing" it up too much would destroy the charm of Tomorrowland. I am all for a major Star Wars Land at DHS, no problems there. I know DL has limited space, and a second Star Wars ride would be okay, but if they convert the entire land ("skin" as the article puts it), I will be very upset.

They wouldn't dare re-theme Space Mountain or anything...would they?

Those means Avatar might be in park?

Avatar: World of Pandora (or something like that) is being added to Animal Kingdom in the site of the former Camp Minnie-Mickey. This is already known, but no real details on what rides/attractions will be there have been released.

I am looking forward to it!

umm... Am I the only one that has a problem with Star Wars in tomorrowland because it is out of theme? I know it is a Sci Fi Fantasy Epic but there is nothing "tomorrow" about it. It is set "A LONG TIME AGO, in a galaxy far far away." Not tomorrow, but in the past. Just saying...

Solid point.

Glad this was started. There are quite a few of us who have trips planned Feb 2014 to WDW and have had frustrations due to inability to schedule, things being canceled as of 2013 end, and park schedules being with held. Many of us are hoping that Disney will dump their dirt and get on with it already so we can plan our trips. Speculation is out of control because of all of this stuff. Hoping D23 might spread some light on whats really going on. Guess we'll see.

I'm fine with Star Wars at Disney's Hollywood Studios, but I don't know how I feel about Star Wars in Tomorrowland.

I've been reading things about a Imagination revamp over at Epcot. Any word on that?

I was fine with Star Tours in Tomorrowland at DL because, where else were they going to put it? But if they Star Wars it up too much, it will cease to be Tomorrowland and becaome Far Far Away Land, and that would not be good. I hope they are smart enough to realize this.

Okay, so obviously, proven by my post count, I'm new to DisBoards, so I'm not entirely up to date on everything. But I'm really not understanding why Avatar would be coming to the parks. :confused3

Where are you getting this "already known" information from. Avatar isn't even Disney, it was put out by 20th Century Fox. Think I am gonna have to call major bull hockey on this one!!!

Jim Hill went to a preview night last night and snapped a picture in the imagineering booth of art that depicts the outlines of plants and trees from Pandora. It's over on his web site. Avatarland is not a rumor people....it's happening, it's official.
