um.. howdy all! macular degeneration

just joining the community here. looking for whatever info we can get on dealing with low vision (due to early onset macular degeneration.)
 
Don't know if you are still around because this is an old thread, but I have early onset (age 52) macular degeneration. If you still need info just reply to this post and I will fill you in on my experience so far.

I know this is a very old post, but I'm taking my 60 year old Mom to WDW next year and she has macular dystropy and is practically blind in the dark. Any tips for navigating the parks and rides, other than just leading her around?
