Unknown Must-Do's!!!

mine are;-

1) Walt - One Mans Dream - in HS a great exhibit with a nice short movie at the end about the life of walt disney.

2) Carousel Of Progress - a little out of the way in TL it took me a few trips to even wonder what it was - great little show

3) The honey chicken in Yak & Yeti take away

4) EPCOT - mexico river boat ride - a little attraction, i didnt even go on it until last trip and its now one of the must dos on my list at epcot ws

MK: Monsters Inc laugh Floor, Jungle Cruise at night, Mickey's Phillamagic

Epcot: Don't miss the movies in the pavillions and just spend time in World Showcase exploring, another recommendation for the Japanese Candy Lady she's really good and if you like music British Revolution at the UK Pavillion are great. Advice would be if whilst strolling you see any shows going on at the pavillions just stop and watch it's always worth it :)

HS: Not sure if it counts as a headliner but don't miss the Great Movie Ride (my last visit a few weeks ago i bumped into so many people that didn't even know it existed!) and we really love Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular and as a way to relax go in to watch the American Idol Finale, we dont watch the tv show but it's just nice to listen to some pretty talented people.

AK: Flights of Wonder is a must do and walk the animal trails, and if you can try and get on Kilamanjaro Safari while it's raining, some of the animals love it so you get some different behaviour.

Someone else mentioned it, but a trip to Tom Sawyer Island is an often overlooked, magical experience with kids. On our last trip we visited Tom Sawyer Island, my oldest was 7 at the time and we split off from the group to explore by ourselves and we had a blast! I am afraid of water and I didn't want to go to the island because the only way to get there is on a tiny, rickety raft (it felt rickety to me, anyway) but I ended up feeling that it was totally worth the stress of that raft ride. It was a great reprieve from the crowds at the park, on the trip to the island we were packed on that boat like sardines, but once we disembarked on the island we had breathing room! We could run and play on the playgrounds and at the fort, the caves are awesome to explore! Someone else mentioned the people mover at night, that was a wonderful experience too.

MK: Cosmo Rays...love watching Sunny Eclipse making his :rotfl2: jokes.

Epcot: Mexico's frozen margaritas.

HS: Go to Pizza Planet to try the crane game.

AK: Seeing the Gorillas.

I'm not entirely sure how my family and I were able to do this, but we got a guided tour of the Tree of Life trail by ITBA and were told the story of an ant on the trunk and how he managed to help create the tree. It was very cool and I'm not sure if you can ask a cast member or if it's just a special opportunity but it was definitely one of the coolest things we've ever done at AK!

Glass blowing demonstration at the Crystal Arts store on Main Street in the MK. You can have them do custom pieces for you as well.

Yeah, hit the Hall of Presidents early and talk with the guy who knows all the presidential trivia. It's super interesting (and educational)!

I like doing the Agent P (formerly KimPossible) quest at World Showcase. A lot of people don't know what's going on, and then you're all like "Yep, I made that happen! - and I can do it again!"

His name is James and he is quite the.... Interesting fellow. Dude loves his presidents though.

This is a great break from everything me and my son went over there and there were a few rocking chairs and we actually watched the 3pm go through Frontierland it was nice getting some rest away from it all with out leaving the MK

MK: Hall of Presidents (Morgan Freeman gets me everytime), Philharmagic, Cosmic Ray's, People Mover

Most of these (all?) have been mentioned already, but I'll add anyway.

TTA Peoplemover @ MK, especially at night. What a fantastic way to relax in the scenery of Tomorrowland when your legs need a rest. Rarely a line. So much more enjoyable than you might expect it to be.

Philharmagic @ MK. Best execution of a 3D-theater show in any Disney park. (Don't forget to turn around and see Donald when he crashes into the back of the theater!)

Flights of Wonder @ AK. Fantastic show!

Finding Nemo Musical @ AK. Great show if you enjoy musicals in general or if you're a fan of the movie.

Living with the Land boat ride @ Epcot. Not exciting, but strangely fascinating and very relaxing.

The "off to the side" sea life tanks at the Seas @ Epcot. I'm not sure what they have right now, but I like the jellyfish, the tanks with unique fish, and of course the dolphins and sharks in the main tank.

American Adventure @ Epcot. (Hall of Presidents @ MK gets honorable mention as something of a predecessor) AmAdv is one of my personal favorites (I've always loved animatronics - see my next suggestion).

Carousel of Progress @ MK. It's an absolute classic, a Walt original from the 1964-1965 NY World's Fair. It's changed a bit over the years, but still oozes with the charm of the "way things used to be" in the early half of the 20th century. The last scene kind of bugs me - I wish they'd change it to represent a view from the 1950s rather than a disjointed look at the future, but it's still one of my favorites.

Muppetvision @ DHS. Adore this attraction. The pre-show alone is worth going in for. It was one of the last projects that Jim Henson worked on before he died, and it holds an incredibly dear place in my heart because of that. It's a must do for me, and there's never a line.

Here's a weird little thing that I have to do every visit: The outdoor extended queue area of Splash Mountain at night when it's empty. Yes - the queue. It's gorgeous. I can stand there, leaning on the fence, just listening to the music and looking at the lanterns hanging from the trees. So incredibly perfect, even though I can't quite explain why. It makes me nostalgic for a time and place I've never been to. And this also ties in with that: Frontierland in general at night. It's like the perfect mix of everything that's romantic about an "Old West that never was."

And while I'm at it: All the parks at night. They're a different place than during the day. Soak up that magic - the way they light the parks, the atmosphere and architecture comes alive in the most surreal way. Take it all in. Don't be in a hurry to hop on all the e-tickets. Absorb as much of that nighttime magic as you can.

See Wishes, just once, from the path leading past Be Our Guest. Quiet, not a lot of people, and you miss any projections on Cinderella's Castle but my whole family felt like we were surrounded by the show. Not to mention I think the fireworks are just as beautiful flying over Beast's Castle (but then I'm a B&tB nut so mileage may vary).

Everything else I was going to say has been added, especially PeopleMover (has anyone said Test Track, too?) at night.

*ETA* Oh, and try to time going into Haunted Mansion while it's daylight but so you come OUT when it's dark. Adds to the spookiness.

MK: Philharmagic - been going to Disney for years and just recently 'discovered' this. One of our must-do attractions now.
Watch the fireworks from behind the castle! It's so moving having them going off around you.

Epcot: Canada & France movies are quite nice. Just discovered the Norway church & Japanese tomb warriors. Must see!
And for some odd reason I love the Three Caballeros ride in Mexico. Maybe it's because of the margarita I always have in La Cava de Tequila....

Finding Nemo Musical @ AK. Great show if you enjoy musicals in general or if you're a fan of the movie.

Finding Nemo -- The Musical could be my favorite attraction at WDW.

Living with the Land retains some of the original, "serious" Epcot ideas.

This would be if you have younger kiddos...but at DHS on an EMH night...go to where they do the Playhouse Live show...Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and some of the playhouse characters do a dance party with the kids! Seriously the favorite thing my nieces and DD did while we were there. Not a lot of people know about it so the girls had a lot of interaction with the characters. Also, people there making balloon animals, etc!!

MK - Peoplemover (in the rain), Sleepy Hollow chicken and waffle sandwich, Frontierland Shooting Gallery

EP - Living with the Land (right next to Soarin' yet passed by almost everyone), Tangierine Cafe in Morocco (our go-to CS restaurant)

HS - Writer's Stop (loved that carrot cake cookie!), Animation building meet-and-greets and displays

I love this thread! My DH was complaining, "We always do the same things over and over!" Now I'm planning a "stuff we've skipped" day at MK, maybe I'll do it at all the parks.

MK - Mickey's Philharmagic - Great attraction & one that is very much what Walt would have wanted because it address 4 of your 5 senses.

AK - Flights of Wonder - Love Guano Joe!

DHS - One Man's Dream - bring your tissues! Great story of Walt & his dream.

Epcot - France movie - beautiful music & a great place to cool off on a hot day.

Yay! This is what I was thinking, we want to do new things. So far I have learned a lot from this thread and hopefully can do it on my upcoming trip.
