Anyone need an afternoon "pick-me-up?"

One of our friends is torturing us from the World!

.

Wow, that is the life! :thumbsup2

I remember eating a great salad at poolside several days on a previous trip. I just looked at the new menus and don't see any. Where could we go to get a chicken type of salad to eat?
Thanks!
Elizabeth

Lettuce hope someone who has recently visited or is going soon will be able to answer this. I would be surprised (and disappointed) if you couldn't get a salad at The Marketplace.

I did get a lovely chicken caesar salad at the marketplace a few years back, not sure if they still do it but I hope so.

Exciting news! Our Dis friend Brenda (emmysmommy) and her daughter Emily were upgraded from their YC CL room to the Admiral's Suite!! There's a picture on page 175 of the Coming To You Live dining thread in the Restaurants forum and I'm sure she'll be posting some more updates throughout her trip. Yay Brenda!

Oh my, oh my, oh my! :faint:

It looks like we are leaving early tomorrow morning instead of Wed morning. We had to change our flight because the airline said our Wed flight would be delayed or canceled altogether due to the blizzard we are expecting to hit tomorrow evening.

I am not even packed and we leave our house around 4:30 am tomorrow. I don't even know yet where we will stay when we get there. :scared: I just left my TA a msg to see if she can find anywhere at Disney, or we will have to scour nearby hotels.

I'm happy we will start our official first Disney day more rested, but I'm definitely a bit stressed at the moment and just hoping the front doesn't move in faster than anticipated so we can get out! ::yes::

Ah! I am in envy of such pixie dust!! They must be so thrilled! How exciting.

Wow! That's exciting, and super stressful all in one! Safe travels!

So, it all started with 5 days at BWI CL to celebrate the graduation and 5 days leading up to it at the Dolphin, regular room to save some money. The splurge was the BWI and that's all we needed. Then, we thought, too cramped with the rollaway bed in a Dolphin regular room, we'll pay a little more and get a deluxe alcove room. Then, when we added up the resort fee, parking fee, taxes, etc we decided for just a little more we could stay at BC/YC standard view. From there, just a few dollars more gets you YC GV so we booked that. Then, that meal plan calculator wandered into my thoughts and there I was running numbers and convincing the DH that CL SAVES money!!!!!! So, ta da, we're YC CL with (and no more upgrades!) standard view. :yay:
I can't think of a request to attach to the reservation. Is there a location that has less of a parking lot view than another location? Oh, and NinjaMom, I blame you entirely for the whole sordid affair. :goodvibes

Can you please add me to the Be Our Guest list. We'll be staying at the BC May 23-31. Can't wait!

I'd love to add you to the list!

Sounds like a rocking trip! :woohoo:

I'll add the changes to your listing.

That Ninja Mom is a bad influence on a lot of us!!!

Speaking of being a bad influence, our friend has been taking her Sunken Treasure for walks around the Beach and Yacht Club.

Some people really take their obsession with this drink a bit far!

Deep breaths and have a wonderful trip!

I checked my notes to see what info I have on the YC CL rooms in GV category. I'm not sure what the classification of 5163 is. The weird thing is, in all of my time on this thread, I have only seen this room mentioned once or twice. I would probably be reporting back if about the lack of balcony if I was assigned to that room at the YC with the expectation of a full balcony. I wonder if this room is not assigned to guests unless necessary (pure speculation on my part)

More speculation by a guest who posted long ago. She thought the YC CL GV rooms were these:

5148
5150
5152
5154

(all are facing gazebo facing away from Epcot, making it difficult to see water too)

5198

(faces away from Epcot and just outside the main lake entrance, but no view of lake from that angle)

No mention of 5163.

Here is the Disney Zone Map:

Disney Zone Archived Room Layout Map for Yacht Club

So all of this info unfortunately doesn't really tell you anything.

My recommendation is to request "Full balcony, please, Gazebo view if possible". I think most of the YC CL GV have the view anyway, so chances are good you would get that without requesting the assignment.

Ask at checkin whether your room has a full balcony. If not, tell the CM that you booked at the YC because you really wanted a full balcony and see if there is a room that you can be reassigned to.

I wanted to add something to this great reply regarding YC CL GV rooms.

In 2010 my DH and I actually stayed in room 5198. That's the one YC CL GV room that overlooks the main lake entrance. Just an FYI...this room is a king bed room (or at least it was in 2010).

So, if the above list is correct, it stands to reason that if you are booked YC CL GV and have 4 people in your party, you will automatically get a wedding gazebo view, right? Also, if you looked left, this room had a beautiful view of the lagoon. Here are some pictures of the room and the view in case anyone is interested:

My DH always laughs at me when I take a picture of the door, but it's great for remembering which room you stayed in:

That is just awful! First the potato chip pictures and now this! Does this "friend" have no decency??

We are going to need a 12 step program just for the people that read this thread! Our cholesterol levels and Livers may not recover from all these temptations...

You tell that "friend" she..... I mean 'they' better behave and stop promoting a life of luxury at the BC/YC resort. People might get the wrong idea and start liking the place!

~NM

PS. It's too bad this "friend" didn't get a picture of that Lobster/seafood roll. She, I mean 'they' should probably go back and get a picture of it.... strictly for informational purposes I mean....

Thank you so much for the additional information!!! Very helpful in unraveling the YC CL GV picture!

No daybed, right? Do you know if the chair become a pullout sleeper?

If you don't mind, I would like to add your post to the YC View thread.

Thanks, again!
