Spectromagic's return: Spring 2013?

Posts on other internet forums (and additional sources) suggest that Spectromagic may return in the spring of 2013.

Any additional input on this rumor would be most welcome.

I love the music to both the MSEP and Spectro, and wouldn't mind to see either, but it would be neat if they'd create something new for a nighttime parade instead of bringing something they already have back.

I'm fine with Spectro returning, however, as long as there are NO MORE Spectromen:


Worst part of the parade BY FAR! If they're gone, I'll welcome Spectro back with open arms.

It's been mentioned and discussed here for the past few months.
Nothing new has been revealed by Disney.

It certainly could happen.
Not sure of the timing, but "Spring" is as good a time as any.

On our honeymoon in May we took the KTTK backstage tour. We got to see the area where they keep the old floats. They were working on some of them and while we were back there they were synchronizing one to music. The guide started to get emotional and just sat there listening and explained it was the 1st nighttime parade she saw when she came to the US and it brought a lot of memories. She confirmed it was coming back but said there was no set date yet but if they were that far along I can't imagine it being much longer.

This would be at least the 6th different Spectro return date that I've seen speculated on in the past year on these boards. I don't think that anyone knows when Sectro is coming back.

I was watching some sort of travel video on WDW and saw some behind the scenes footage that showed them working on a Spectro float and syncing it to music. So I suppose they're still working on it. Who knows when it'll be back?

I would like to see Spectro, but I want to see the MSEP in person one more time before (and this is just my guess) it returns to Disneyland.

Personally, I liked SM a lot better, so I'd love to see it return. MSEP just doesn't do it for me. Anyways, here's a new article on the matter.

I have seen Specto enough personally. I love MSEP but I wish that Disney would create a new parade.

Well, I'm just very relieved I get to see MSEP next weekend. I've been fortunate enough to see it multiple times in my last 3 trips, and this will make trip 4. It's my childhood parade, so Spectro will just never be able to replace it (though the music is nice). But Baroque Hoedown is my ringtone and MSEP is just one of my all time Disney classic favorites!

Don't know when our next trip will be - probably quite late in 2013, so rumor or not, sounds like I'll need to say my MSEP goodbyes just in case.

I'll confess that the first time I saw MSEP as an adult, I sat there & sobbed like a baby. Ok, and the 2nd & 3rd times too. I have distinct memories of sitting on my dad's lap & watching that parade, and of him spinning me on the sidewalk to the music, and he died when I was still a kid. Glad I'll get to see it a few more times this fall.

Last week while at MK waiting out a shower a guest services manager told us that MSEP was headed back to DL after the holidays and Spectro would be returning....and we all know how reliable CM info is - the only thing better would be if a boat driver had told us!
