Grant is leaving Ghosthunters.

DD was so upset last night, as it was announced during the show. His last episode will be airing May 16th. The crew was pretty choked up at the announcement.

DD14 LOVES all things that are scary, spooky, and make you jump. She has every season of Ghosthunters on DVD that is out.

Awe man!!!! MY gosh... we have had to DVR this season because of basketball season and my DS15 is gonna be floored... I will have him watch this tonight to see....

I saw the episode last night. It is sad that he is leaving but the way it was handled was comical to me.

There is no way that Grant suddenly decided at the end of an investigation to tell Jason he was leaving. It was a very awkward conversation where Grant said he needed to speak with Jason without the cameras and mikes. He made a point of asking if the mikes were off. It was very scripted.

I have watched the show since it premiered and enjoyed it. Usually I DVR it so that I am not sitting in my living room alone at night watching it. I know I am silly but it makes me nervous.

I get the impression he is leaving because the show takes up too much time. They travel all over while they are filming and they also do speaking engagements all over the country.
I did notice he said he was leaving Ghost Hunters, not that he was leaving TAPS. They usually don't mention Ghost Hunters and always refer to the group as TAPS.

He was missing from the first hunt of the show due to a family emergency. He also said something along the lines that after 8 years it has taken a toll on his family. If I had to guess it was either the show or his family.

I hope he won't be gone forever. I love Steve and Tango together and have a feeling they will be split up so Steve can go with Jay.

Grant only said that it was personal. He was careful to announce that he was leaving Ghosthunters. I guess that that infers that he'll still be associated with TAPS.

I wonder if they'll bring someone else in? Grant has a few more shows to go this year and then it'll be interesting to see what they decide.

I'm so sad to see him go, he's always been one of my favorites on the show. I hope he still drops in once in a while for an episode, I'm going to miss him!

Judging from Jason's FB page I'm gonna guess that this is not is surprise to him. Haven't watched the show in awhile, but without knowing just how may days a year are devoted to the show taping, its gotta take up quite a bit of time. I will miss him but there are more important things than doing a tv show.

I didn't get to watch the actual episode, I was busy watching the Purdue-Illinois basket ball game. I only got that he was leaving Ghosthunters, outta of her and how Steve was so upset he was crying. I am going to try to catch the episode when it gets shown again.

I have no doubt they scripted it for the show and that Jason was well aware of it prior to that. No way would Grant drop a bomb like that without telling Jason. To me their chemistry has seemed off for a bit..there were a few episodes a while back where I wondered if they were not getting along but it could be that if Grant was struggling with something in his personal life it altered their interactions.

I have it DVR'd, DD15 loved GH and didn't watch it last night. I'll see if he's got his ring on or not. to be honest, that's what I told DBF, "I bet he's working too much and he's having marriage problems or he's getting divorced now". It wouldn't surprise me, those guys work a lot. It will be weird without him and I too hope they don't completely split Dave & Tango....I also sort of hope they don't bring Joe in full time, while I like Joe sometimes most of the time he just gets on my nerves.

I think we will continue to see him and he's going to keep working with TAPS, remember, he kept saying it wasn't the end. I'll miss him tho......

We didn't watch Ghost Hunters much, we prefer Ghost Adventures, but the few times we did watch GH we really like Grant. I bet he won't be gone to long.

Well, from all I can tell is that Grant wants to go back to school and focus on his digital media and music. He will still be a part of TAPS and will help them out in other ways. There is no issues with him or any members of the team. His life is just moving in another direction and he wants to see what might be there for him.

I was surprised to hear he wouldn't be doing the show anymore. I also had someone else tell me he didn't have his ring on...knowing what a family man he is I can see him taking time to work on his marriage IF that is the issue.

I'm not sure who I'd like to see Jason with...I like Steve, but I like how he and Tango work together.

I think Barry would be good but that would mean pulling him off the international show. Maybe Jason's daughter will be coming on full time and take Grants place?

What that poster stated was essentially just a summary of what was posted on the TAPS site

I imagine whatever is going on they are trying to keep it somewhat private. To me Grant seems a bit more private/guarded about his personal life vs Jason.

I've thought for sometime now that Grant might leave the show. He's missed a few investigations and Jason is bringing more of himself and his family into GH (not only his daughter, but also his dog!)

Grant was always my favorite until that collar-pulling incident on the live show a few years ago. Nothing could convince me that that wasn't completely staged.
