Moms to be Part 4

For my family, the past two weeks have been filled with mixed emotions. Two weeks ago, we lost my father to lung cancer. He was diagnosed in October with stage 4 cancer, just two weeks after DH and I learned that I was pregnant. 8 days later, my father came down to my house and went to our ultrasound appointment to find out what our munchkin is. We are so excited to know that we will be having a baby BOY in June. My father would be thrilled to know that his first grandchild is a boy and I know that he will take good care of this baby from Heaven.

I am so sorry for your loss. I think it is wonderful that your father knew you were pregnant before he passed away.

I think I felt the baby move this morning!!! Felt like little twitches or flutters....it didn't feel like gas to me! LOL

that's awesome! What was the rate? Have fun telling!

I didn't ask the rate! Didn't even think about it. I was just so relieved to hear it on the doppler!

Awesome!!

We told DS8 about the baby. His response was: "It's going to be baby mania around here." And then he looked at Liam and said, "Wait a minute, you just had him. Are you sure you're pregnant again?" LOL! Then he got all excited about the possibility of sharing a room with his little brother because they could get bunk beds. We'll see how the bunk beds sound in a few years when he's a tween!

Just checking in to let you all know that we are doing well. The transition to home has been very smooth. Camden really is a wonderful baby, so it's been going really well. We are so in love and are so blessed. :cloud9: My in-laws are here right now "helping". "Helping" is really more like getting in the way :headache: but I know they have good intentions... and will go home on Sunday! ;)

That is so exciting! The second trimester is absolutely wonderful. You get to feel your little one move, your belly starts to pop, and you feel pretty good (almost normal even!) Enjoy it!

I am down to less than 24 hours! We are having our baby boy at 7:30 tomorrow morning! So excited!

Hi everyone!

So glad to have found this thread. I am 7 weeks pregnant with my first child and this is all so new to me.

I have not really had morning sickness, but I am getting pretty consistent late afternoon/evening sickness :( I have only vomited a little-I am more just really nauseous.

Any tips to help relieve this?

I had been doing really well with drinking water and eating well until this past week when I can barely eat and water is making me nauseous. I have only been able to drink half my water intake.

Thank you in advance for any advice you might have:flower3:

I had the same thing, evening/night sickness. I personally just dealt with it, but there are some good remedies. B6 and unisom! :) It works for a lot of people. I did do one thing and that was to change my prenatal vitamin. The generic ones I was taking before were making me throw up every time!

Congrats on your pregnancy and welcome to the thread!

Feeling the baby the first time is such a cool feeling but if you are like me then you doubt yourself. The best way I can compare it too is it feeling like butterfly wings or little fish swimming. Weird but true. I think the best thing about being pregnant is feeling that precious little baby moving inside you.

I'm still on bedrest, I've made it to 34 week but we had a scare on Monday. My blood pressure was quite high and on Tuesday they had me come in and do some tests and I was pretty much told if the results were not good I'd be having a baby that day. Luckily everything looked better on Tuesday so we are back to taking it day by day. I just want everything to be fine with Violet.

Jude Mathis arrived at 7:51 Monday morning! He was 6lbs 12oz, 19'' long, and absolutely perfect!

The c-section went very smoothly and we came home yesterday. I am feeling pretty good and Jude is doing wonderful. He is slightly jaundiced, but he appears to be better today than yesterday.

I am completely overwhelmed by the intensity of my love for him! He is the most amazing little creature I have ever seen!

I am working on getting full details up on my blog today!

Thank you all for thinking of me!

Usually I am more of a lurker, but wanted to pop in and announce that my son Alec was born 2/4/12 at 38.6 weeks. My labor was fairly easy, but little man gave us a couple of scares when his heart rate got too low a couple of times during contractions. It's horribly disconcerting to suddenly have half a dozen nurses run into the room while yelling for a dr! My OB is awesome though, and we got my son out safely. We're tired, but he is awesome.

Try to be patient Momma. Glad the scare was temporary. Your almost there and in my prayers. Please keep us posted.
