Help with baby name for baby girl....

Friends of ours just named their baby Lucy Amelia.

I love the name Vivian, one of my favorites. Funny you said your mom was Lucinda because I was going to suggest it, I love that name as well. I don't really like Amelia and I think it's get a little to common.

Catherine .....depending on her personality, she may end up being Cate, Cat, Cathie, Catie....and I love Amelia as a middle name.

(you may have guessed from my screen name that I'm a Katherine):goodvibes

Our DD's name is Amelia. She was originally going to be named Amelia Vivian but we changed it to honor a family member.

I love all three of your choices! I think Vivian and Amelia are my top choices - they both have cute nicknames if that matters to you (Amelia - Amy, Mia, Millie and Vivian - Viv, Vivy).

Lucy is darling, too, though...but I'd probably go with something longer for her given name - Lucinda, Lucia, etc. Great choices and congrats!

I ordinarily wouldn't be so blunt, but since you asked...

I think Vivian is horrid, and I don't like Rae, either. I'm not fond of Lucy, but I live in an area heavily populated with French Canadians, and it is a very common name among Francophones (although they spell it "Lucie")

From the list you specified, I'd go with Amelia Catherine.

We had 3 names that we could not decide between.
We ended up giving DD my favorite as her first name and we hyphenated the 2 remaining names for her middle name.

Her first name is 4 letters and her middle name is 18 :lmao:

I like Amelia. With your older dd being Victoria, it flows nicely with that. And you could call them Vicky (or Tori) and Amy for short, if you wanted to.

You could even do Amelia Lucinda, as a nod to your mom. One of my dd's has my mother's name as her middle name, as my mom did not wish it to be used as the first name.

My first choice was Vivan, until you mentioned your other daughter was Victoria.

It's been my experience that siblings of the same sex and with similar beginning sounds to their names, get tangled up more often.

I have a friend with three boys. The middle child starts with a C and noone has a problem with his name. The other two start with BR, and everyone gets their names messed up.

Lucy is also pretty, but is a much more "simple" name than Victoria. Now, this is probably my own hangup, but I have three sisters with long, beautiful names like Victoria. I'm Susan. I always felt my name was boring compared to theirs. :confused3 Now, the Lucinda option might avoid this, and still enable you to call her Lucy as a nickname!

Amelia is also beautiful, and has a similar style as Victoria.

So my choices would be either:
Amelia Rae or Lucinda Rae

Hope that made sense. :rotfl:

I love all of those. I would choose Vivian and call her Vivi.

I am a Katharine.. I love my name! Of your choices I would say Amelia after Catherine of course!

My new favorite name, just throwing it out there.. very rare except for my neice.. Amania (aman-yah) is her name. It is biblical if that matters at all. My sister needed a hebrew name and she has always loved Amanda but that wasn't hebrew of course, so she looked through the A's and found that!

I like Catherine. I've always liked it paired with Rose, but Rae works too.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of Vivian or Lucy. . .bad connotations for me.

Amelia is nice, but I think with your oldest being a Victoria, Catherine sounds great with that. They are both classic, regal names. :thumbsup2

i really like the name Lucy. It was on our list with my first child.

Amelia, I think I like? But all I hear is "meal".

And i do like Vivian, but I don't like it with your older daughters name. I don't like matching letter names at all.

My BFF just had a baby girl and named her Evelyn Rae. Same kind of style of your other names!

Good luck!

When I hear Vivian I immediately think of the hooker in the movie Pretty Women (played by Julia Roberts but still).

I like Catherine Amelia (but actually prefer Kathryn).

I first thought the same thing about Vivian, I also immediately thought Lucy-goosey and Amelia Bedelia. I love Catherine however.

:lmao: I've enjoyed all the replies, thanks! We will do some thinking today and see where we get. My husband is terrible and has a (what he thinks is funny) comment to them all. I loved Sophia until he wouldn't stop with Sophie the Trophy...and for Lucy he says Loose >:(...now I can add Amelia Bedelia and Vivian the hooker for my consideration. :lmao: Better to consider those things now than afte the birth!

I do LOVE my older daughter's name and think it fits her and is gorgeous.....and I want something I love as much for this baby, too!
