Big Thunder Ranch: Thumbs up or Thumbs Down?

Definite thumbs up! We loved it. We've done both the lunch and dinner and have enjoyed both. All you can eat and you can take food to go as well..so if you're staying at a hotel nearby, you can have another meal later.

What's the difference in the lunch/dinner?

You get smoked sausage too.

If every one likes the food :thumbsup2

Since it's not a buffet there are not a lot of choices to please everyone. One of the problems that comes up now and then is people expected fried chicken, but it is BBQ.

We ate there with 7 of us last summer and would give it a thumbs up!

We've eaten there twice (past two summers) and we all love it. I think you also get corn on the cob wheels at dinner and you don't at lunch, but I'm not positive. My daughter loves the sausage, so we always go for an early dinner.

We have eaten there twice, once for lunch and once for supper. Very good and filling especially great when DH and DS are big eaters!! We enjoyed the leftovers later as well. They have a good vegetarian option as well.

We used to eat there whenever we went to the park, but the prices are so much higher now. DH and I have Premium Annual Passes this year. Does anyone know if we can we get a discount there? (Waiting on my password to access annual passholder site. Can't remember it.) I'd love to eat there again.

BIG Thumbs Up!!!

The above is the dinner: All you can eat chicken, ribs & smoked sausage. Beans, Coleslaw, Corn Wheels & Cornbread muffins. It's all you can eat & worth the price.

The lunch is cheaper but does not include the sausage or corn.

Drinks are extra, as well as the desserts. The family style desserts are not a bad price & are really good!!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bake with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream & Hot Fudge.

This was a "Seasonal" cobbler--Strawberry Rhubard with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

I know you have a big family, so this must have been for all of you, but still, these photos have me convinced! It does look really good.

We were split between 2 tables, so each table got a full serving of each item. So for most, split the tray in half & that's what you get to start with......they come by & ask if you need refills on everything.

If you want one of the family desserts, order it about half way thru your meal, as it does require cooking time. Well worth it.....fresh, hot & delicious!! (I believe these cost us $8.99)

If you take a close link at the pictures you will notice in particular with the bean and meat that the serving dishes are different sized. You get a serving porportional to your party size. If you want more just ask, this is an all you care to eat location.

DBF and I have walked past this many times before in previous trips to DL, and have always wanted to try it. I'm actually surprised at how many people have responded saying how good it was and that they had tried it!! It's sort of tucked away in a back corner in a less traveled part of DL, and you really never hear much about it. But after seeing the pictures, I know DBF will just DIE for the BBQ :goodvibes Definitely worth a try on our next adventure :thumbsup2

How is the food compared to Taste Pilot's? DH thinks this sounds great... but he's afraid I'll make him skip TPG and he'll miss out. :rotfl2: Silly man. I may have to promise him both.
