February 2011 - who's going? - IT'S FEBRUARY! WAHOO!

I called the YES folks again and I spoke to a very pleasant young lady. She confirmed that all YES classes on Presidents week are officially cancelled, but if we could get 10 kids (parents dont count) then they could resurrect a class.

Do you think we should start a new thread on this topic?

Are there other more DL centric forums (other than the DIS) we can try to tap?
They called and told me the same thing about an hour ago--if we can get 10 for any of the classes, they'll reinstate it, but that's all kids--10 kids at the minimum.

We are 2 kids ages 13 and 16. Both would do animation, if physics isn't going. We would do 1 chaperone if needed. When I called they told me it was for groups, so I appreciate all of everyones work. We already have our tickets, so all we need is the class.

Well that's 7 for animation, so that's definitely looking possible for the 10. Just to clarify, would your kids like to do animation, or both animation and physics, if we can get that off the ground?

I am so sorry, but some questions, how long are the classes, how much? The way it looked, the cost without ticket was $33 per student. Depending on how long the class is and if I have the price right they might do both. We are from the east coast and don't get to DL to often, so they won't want to spend to full days in classes. If the class is just a few hours in the morning than they would probably want to do both. I know, to much info, but I want to be honest, so you have accurate info. Thanks again.

The website I saw said that classes for those with tickets were $15, but to be sure, I think you should call Disney's YES at 1-877-WD-YOUTH. I don't want you or your kids to be disappointed in your vacation, either.

Wow Laura. We went on the same EB Repo Cruise in 2008. We will be on the same Disney Dream Cruise this August 2011 and we will be in Disneyland at the same time next month!

We will be there from Feb 19-26... those are our flying days, but we get in late on the 19th and leave early on the 26th.

This will be our first DVC stay - Villas at Grand California (1BR).

That is too funny. I'm jealous of your stay in the villas at the GC. We'll be staying at BWPPI.

The animation class is three to three and a half hours. I believe that's true for most classes, but I am not sure about that.

I also think the classes are $15/each.

I appreciate your patience and help. If the class is only $15 we are for sure in. I think 1 class is all that we will have time for. If Animation is the only class, then count them both in for that.

They will be at DL for the 1st time in 10 years, there is no disappointment, only excitement.

Thanks again everyone!

I looks like we found one more for the YES class. Welcome, DisneyMomma81!

Here's the list, but it looks like I'm missing two? Who am I missing?

Mydisneyobsession: 1
Silmarg: 2
Gipperland: 1
Mellers: 1
DisneyMomma81: 1

Not to hijack the current theme of this thread, but most of us are about a month out from our DL trips. I for one, am pretty darned excited!:cool1:

I'm at 14 days and counting, and am severely over organized for the trip. Kids are still clueless about our pending trip, as I've got a good cover story as to why we are pulling the kids out of school for 2 weeks. DS 7 is starting to get suspicious, but am rapidly covering my tracks and have got him thoroughly confused at the moment. Can't wait to go visit the mouse again. I feel a road trip coming on!

I'll be there the 19-21 maybe 22 if I can call out of work. I'm staying either at HOJOs, Carousel or Hampton...whichever works out cheaper and nicer.

I'm celebrating running my first 5K!!:thumbsup2
