I called & switched my ressie, too.

They said they just got the info at 9am today.

Just saw on this thread that there is a new military offer but I have not called to confirm it...

Hope it is true!!!

Okay - I just called to confirm it. The room discounts are a go, but there isn't any info out on the tickets yet.

I talked to my ITT office, and three people at shades of green. There WILL be a deal on tickets, but they don't know when.

This really aggravates me for a few reasons. The room discount is already up and running, so why hold off on the tickets? They don't know when they will release that info. We already bought our tickets, but this deal will save us $400 dollars! Our ticket office is willing to refund us the tickets we bought so we can buy the new ones. If the offer is released before we go, and we leave on the 15th. Not knowing when the info will be a GO is really annoying, and if its released two days into our trip I'm going to be pissed!

We leave tomorrow... so hopefully by the time we arrrive at the gates to purchase tickets - the military discount will be known.

At the current time there is still nothing on The Hub in the ticketing section that talks about any military promotions, other than the 25% Cirque du Soleil discount.

I called and was able to book at the Beach Club with the 40% off military discount for a room only and was able to add on a military dining package along with it last night. The CM on the phone told me that the military salute tickets were available. I will call my ITT tomorrow. Last time I bought directly from the ITT at NAS Jacksonville, they were wonderful. If they are available on bases, they would know.

HI,
our travel agent told me yesterday that we cannot combine the dining with the room only ressie? But you were able to? Also, what is this "military dining" I have never heard of it before. My dad is retired military and has a room only ressie, it would be great if he could get a dining plan too!

You can add dining to the military room only rate. I think it is around $45 per night for adults.

Your TA is correct you cannot add the dining plan to a room only reservation it would have to be changed to a package reservation with the package terms

Room only - deposit required is the first night room rate
Balance is due upon arrival at the resort
Can be cancelled up to 6 days prior to arrival for a full refund

Package - $200 deposit required
Final is due at least 45 days prior to arrival
Cancellation and change fees are applied if any changes or cancellations are made 44 or less days prior to arrival

too bad, it would be ideal if he could get the dining plan, since we all have it. Have you ever heard of the "Military Magic Your Way" and if it's a good deal?

Actually, you CAN add dining to the military-room rate rooms without purchasing tickets and making it a full package like the free dining ones.

You pay full-price for whichever meal plan you choose, but you can most certainly add it to the room-only reservation. It does make it a package that has different cancellation procedures.

I thought that is what I said??

If you (general you) as if dining can be added to a room only reservation you will be told no. It has to be booked as a package

military packages can include dining but do not include park tickets as noted by the poster above

Not for regular reservations. Only for Military Salute. It is considered a package when you add dining to the Military Salute deal, you just pay the % off the room and are NOT required to purchase tickets (as you would for a regular package with dining) Clear as mud?;)

I talked to the TA and she offered us a "Military Magic Your Way" option which would be only plus dining for 8 days. With the mil rate for the room it was going to be about $600. For the option she gave with the dining she quoted me about $1000. This is a room that only my father is going to be in. Why is it four hundred more just for the dining option? She won't/can't answer and I'm wondering if I need to cancel our ressie for that room and go directly with WDW? Does that sound strange that to add the dining it was $400 more, just for one person?

How many nights are you staying? The dining plan is about $45 per night, multiplied by the number of nights it could be that much, just depends on the length of stay.

ETA... I just saw you are staying 8 nights, so $400 is pretty close once you add tax. The dining plan isn't always worth it. I suggest looking at the menus of the restaurants you will be dining in on allears.net and estimate how much he would spend without the dining plan.

My post didn't mention anything about tickets I was just replying to the person asking about room only and not being able to add on the dining plan :confused3

Not only is there nothing on The Hub about any special discounted tickets for the military, I looked in the Automated Ticketing System at work today in the level which had the Armed Forces Salute tickets in the past nd there was nothing there. These means that the system is currently unable to issue any Armed Forces Salute tickets.

If and when they do become available I will start a specific thread as well as update the sticky.
