My Very Merry Christmas Celebration ~Updated 8/12

I'm so glad this trip is finally happening for you. I'm glad you are taking Lexi too, she is going to have a great time.

Keep watching Southwest, I'm so glad I held off on buying our return flights when that big sale came out a few weeks ago!

I bought our plane tickets to Florida on Southwest but have not bought our return tickets yet. I am waiting to see if the price drops some as last I checked they were still $191 a person. I don't have a problem staying in Florida.

CHECK SOUTHWEST TODAY!!!

I just happened to go to the site to add early bird check-n for my return flight and found the rate had dropped by $55/ticket!!!

Terry and I don't do credit cards either... I have to say, it feels SO good coming home from vacation and not be in debt from it... :goodvibes

I know that just released a sale today but you can't fly on Sundays and those are the only days you can fly. I figure there is still plenty of time between now and then to buy them.

I know I checked the flights after I posted my update. The flight down has dropped a lot. I bought them on the day they released them for $141 and they went up as high as $424. :scared1: They were down to $150 I think when I checked a little bit ago.

I know I already posted an update today but I forgot to add that our trip is 109 days away!!!!!

Joining in!! I am so excited for you and for this trip! Two whole weeks at Disney! A first trip for your hubby and your daughter?? I love it! Plus, our dates overlap some. How cool!!! I cannot wait to hear more about your trip!

Also, when you went to PEI - did you get to Green Gables house? We went when I was 12ish and it is one of my favorite childhood vacation memories!

I am so glad this trip is finally happening for you. And you could even say, it's all unfolding as it was meant to! Now you're able to stay for a nice long stint, have free dining! It's all coming together. :goodvibes

Ahhhh Hurrican Frances....I remember that one well because I was stuck on a cruises ship for an extra day (sounds like fun, it wasn't) and then had to wait it out for another day in a Ft. L hotel.....luckly that one had power!

I'm looking forward to seeing your park plans and whatnot!

What are your dates? I thought that I had subbed on your trip but I think I must have accidentally unsubcribed when I checked it with my ipod. I have done that on several threads.:headache: I will head over in a few.

We went to PEI twice and we went to Green Gables both times. It is so beautiful there. I was 12 the first year and 13 the second year. We traveled to Canada a lot because our pastor (yes that pastor) had moved there for a little while. Our families travel well together (obviously) and after our first trip they wanted to go and we went with them. I love the red dirt on the beaches, so pretty.

I do feel this is the year it was meant to be. We have had a very rough year and we are in need of a vacation. We need something to look forward to. Yes it is true because we waited we are able to stay longer. I had thought of upgrading our resort but Jon and I both wanted to stay longer, and Alexia will really love POP.

I don't think being stuck on a cruise ship due to a hurricane would be fun. Did you have rough weather? At least you found a hotel that had power. I am excited to share my plans with all of you WDW vets so I can hear your input.

They were very brave. Part of me really wants to tell Lexi on her bday (which is the 16th) but then another part of me wants to wait until we get a little closer to the trip. If I tell her on her birthday then I thought I could have her help me make a countdown calendar. We will hit 100 days 4 days after her bday. I think that is a long time for a 5 year old to countdown though.

That is a tough decision! It could be a lot of fun to tell her - and the countdown would help her realize how far away it is...but that IS a loooong time for a little one. Henry is only 3, but we are struggling with 30 days. :lmao:

I'm SO excited for you that this trip is happening!!! So many times it's been pushed back, and now you get to go for 2 weeks! I think 5 is a GREAT age, she will remember the trip and it will be incredibly magical.

We don't do credit cards either - we learned the hard way though. We have a Disney one that we charge stuff to and then pay it off right away. We end up with some extra Disney money that way. :goodvibes Plus our old bank only had a $200 a day limit on it - we couldn't even book our plane tickets with that!

I don't have a problem staying in Florida.

:rotfl:

We are there Nov. 26- Dec. 5. My trip updates have been pretty slow due to vacation and birthday parties, but now that we are through that it's Disney time!!

How cool! My parents loved traveling in Canada as the US dollar was worth more than the Canadian and with a family of 6 they needed every extra traveling advantage they could get!

I am planning to throw a 99 days til Disney party for the kids and that will be the way we tell them. I am hoping to have most of the countdown calendar done and use part of the time at the party to make lists of the things they are excited to be doing. I know 100 days is a long time for the 4-6 crowd, but they are talking about traveling to Disney every day anyhow -- at least this way they will have a visual. What sort of countdown calendar are you thinking of?

I think we will tell her at 30 days. I will make a countdown for her. She is having a hard enough time counting down to her birthday(8/16) and she still has 6 days to go. :rotfl:

She will remember and until this past spring she was terrified of loud noises. She knows that I went when I was little and has asked me if I liked the rides and seeing Mickey Mouse. I bought her that same book you bought Henry. I thought it would be a good tool to help her learn about all the characters. I am planning to give it to her for her birthday.

We don't do credit cards either - we learned the hard way though. We have a Disney one that we charge stuff to and then pay it off right away. Only $200 a day!!! That isn't very much at all.

I'm so glad your finally getting to take your trip after all the delays. Your all going to have such a wonderful time!

I am planning on making either chains or one with Mickey heads from HD. I think I will probably start at 45 days that way it isn't so long for her.

I know we will have a wonderful time. We are really looking forward to it.

I have a question for all you seasoned veterans out there. Is Tour Guide Mike better or is Touring Plans better?
