The back pain is getting better...very slowly, but surely, thank goodness. I went to the doctor at noon. He saw the way I was standing and immediately knew my lower back was in all kinds of spasms. He told me to continue taking Advil every 4 hours and he also gave me Flexeril. The Flexeril definitely relaxed me, I fell asleep on the couch recliner (which thank goodness did not surt my back more...I was afraid to go to sleep and not just sit in a hard chair!). The Advil wore off so it hurts, but I took it about 10 minutes ago and just waiting for it to kick in. I was still able to get up from the couch though, even though it hurt. My 5-year-old son was so cute...this morning on the way to school, he told my father that my back was hurting and he was worried about me. He asked who would take care of me, and my father explained that I can take care of myself so he was relieved. He came home after school and has been concerned, happy that I went to the doctor and got some medicine. I had to explain to both my kids that I can't lift them anymore. That's the hardest part, knowing I can't do that anymore now. The doctor said no.

The other hard part is that I can't exercise for 2 weeks and I am a HUGE exerciser. He said after 2 weeks, ease back into it and go light at first. By then I will have 3 weeks before the trip so I will really take it easy. Good thing it's not winter...at least I can walk at the park a few blocks away! No heavy weight lifting though for a couple of weeks...but at that point I am going to keep it very light so I don't get hurt before the trip.

Thanks everyone for your concern! I hope to go back to work tomorrow, depends on how I feel in the morning after lying in bed all night. I'm actually really nervous about that after what i went through at 3 this morning, not being able to move. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow! He said give it a couple of days and I should feel MUCH better!

Thanks again to all! :hug::grouphug:

So glad you were able to get some relief! Your son is too cute!

Added the times in red!

:thumbsup2

Our ADR's (mostly in June - boo):

June 27: Rainforest Cafe (@AK) 12:30 <- the kids BEGGED us!
June 28: The Plaza (@MK) 12:15 (????)
June 30: Le Cellier 2:35
July 3rd: Whispering Canyon 1:20

These are all new ressies for us; we wanted to try all different restaurants. Otherwise, I'd be at my favorites, including Boma and O'hana's...

Coral Reef lost my patronage when they took the catfish off the menu and changed up the mahi-mahi... If they put the catfish back on, somebody let me know! THANKS! ;)

:thumbsup2

Well I won't be able to this shirt design....

Because I will have to use this one...

DH finally got the word that he will be able to join us for most of the trip 23-28:cool1::cool1:

off to try to fix our ADRs

They lost mine when we booked a Thanksgiving reservation for 6:00. We got there at 5:40, waited to be seated until 6:30!!!, and then were told they 'ran out' of the special Thanksgiving menu beacuse they let all the servers eat it. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm glad the servers who had to work on Thanksgiving got to enjoy, but they should have accounted for that when preparing. We don't like the 'normal' Coral Reef menu and so then had to spend beaucoup $$ on a meal we didn't even really like/want. :rolleyes1

That is terrible!!! I do not normally complain, but I think I would have had to say something about that one.

BTW, were you just interested in AK Club level or just interested in trying a Club Level anywhere?

I never complain either, and didn't speak to a manager because I thought perhaps I had misunderstood something with the reservation (like maybe it said 'special menu - while available' or something,) but when I came back home and researched on the DIS I realized that was not the norm and many said it was unacceptable. I guess I'll know for next time, but hopefully there won't be a next time ;)

We were looking at AKL CL mainly because we're booked at AKL right now. We got the 40% off PIN and it was a more affordable way to do a deluxe. We've done BWI CL and CR CL before and really enjoyed both. If we could afford Poly CL that would be choice #1 :goodvibes

Ok, I know that all of you will understand my frustration...

DD16 just found out that Taylor Lautner is filming a new movie at her high school this summer. The producers have asked that her high school band be filmed for a short segment. They will probably film 1-2 minutes which will be cut to 30-40 seconds. Most likely, Taylor Lautner will not be there for the filming. However, DD really wants to be part of it. I cannot blame her. Of course they are filming July 12-13.......we were due to leave Disney to drive home on July 14th. DH has suggested that he and she can leave early on July 10th to drive home and DS and I can stay and fly back. Of course, now I will need to alter our ADRs etc. I am trying to wrap my head around it. We have not decided "officially" yet, but I am thinking of switching one or two ADRs so we can still do them when we are all there. This just threw me into a tailspin!

I think your husband has a good idea. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and if she doesn't get to go she'll make the rest of your vacay just miserable.

Ahhh, the magnetism of a teenage girl and her heartthrob! Where are my New Kids on the Block when I need them?

What about touching base with a friend at the same school/in the band...maybe you could send DD home via plane on the 11th and a friend's parent could pick her up from the airport, then she could sleep over at the friend's house for the couple of days during the filming, then maybe hook up with an aunt/uncle or grandparent until you return? That way she is getting some independence (which she will feel cool about I'm sure) and then YOU won't have to sacrifice the rest of your vacay?

Just had sort of a bummer! DH and I have been debating whether or not to switch to CL at the AKL and we decided today that it's not that much more with our PIN and to go for it, however, since we waited so long to decide, there aren't any available with our PIN :( Bummed out, but I guess it was our own fault ;)

I am in the same boat - I wanted CL at AKL too, but the rooms were gone! I could kick myself for not taking the room when I very first booked it

I went to see NKOTB a few years back when they did their comeback tour. I almost touched them they were so closed at one point. And I made eye contact with Danny. I was swooning! hehe :lovestruc

By the way, there's a sneak peek of the Harry Potter theme park in Entertainment Weekly (May 28)
I have read in several places online that they are expecting lines with wait times up to 7 hours!:scared1: While I'd love to go see the Hogwarts and the shops, there's no way I'll be there in July!

Having a DD16 and having already switched our vacation dates for her (she got asked to go to a training camp at the Olympic Traning Center--how can you say no to that?), I can totally understand:headache:. Good luck! Perhaps you can fly her home and have her stay with friends or family until the rest of you arrive? Then you all don't miss out on your vacation days and it's (somewhat) cheaper with only 1 airfare.

I would love to go to Wizarding World of Harry Potter too, but I think I'll wait a few years. I'm not loving the idea of the hours waiting in line! I'll stay close to "home" at Disney! ;)

I know!! So bummed!! Do you think there are less available because they switched a bunch over to DVC?

So jealous!! haha Funny how into them we were :)

Wendy, anyway to start the vacation earlier? You DH is wonderful to understand your DD and offer a solution!

Thanks, I will definitely take it easy!!

I think my shoes were also a part of the problem. I was walking around last week (teaching, on my feet all day) in those ballet-slipper type shows from Payless. They are completely flat and I know that is not good for the back. I think that is where my problem first started. Then lifting a 45-pound 5-year-old didn't help my cause, and neither did lifting heavy weights after that (especially the dead lift exercise...my back was already iffy at that point...I probably hunched when I shouldn't have, causing a much bigger injury to the area). I am wearing New Balance walking shoes now. They give lots of support, and I never had a problem with them! I wore a pair to WDW 2 years ago and was very comfortable walking around in them. Whenever I need new walking shoes, I always buy a new pair of these. I am going to be wearing them again when touring the parks. I don't know how people tour the parks in some of the shoes I see them wearing...either they don't mind how it feels, or they aren't thinking about it. For me, I need my good sneakers to do that kind of walking!

Keep praying everyone, please! I accept all denominations of anything you believe in for prayers!!!

Which NB are you getting??I have been looking at some for the trip
