Divas, Zebra Domes, and Pixie Dust! A Week in an African Paradise! New TR Link Pg.145

I love the pictures of the lodge and the activity! I know my girls would love to do that, we will have to get to it someday!

Charles... missing your sought after dinner!

Tell Chelsea her box is super cute. Does she use it for jewelry? I'm glad she was feeling crafty at least.:laughing:What beautiful pictures of the AKL! I can see why you enjoyed staying there.:cloud9:

I love Chelsea's box!!! I bet she really enjoyed doing that project, and I love how relaxing your afternoon was!!!! Postcards.......hmmm.......I wonder who one of those might happen to be for?!?!?!?!?! ;) Thanks again sweetie!

NOW, I just can NOT believe that someone missed out on dinner.......especially THAT dinner!!!! Don't leave us hanging!!!

I love that AKL has the different activities! What a great touch! Chelsea did a great job on the box. I feel like I have yet to hear about any food at AKL - table service, counter service or anything - that was not thought to be really good!

Chelsea's box = :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Reading your report is making so stinkin' excited for our trip at AKV in 15 days!!! Question for you - where did you find the schedule of activities going on at AKV before you left?

Looking forward to the next update!

I loved the Ceramics thing that Chelsea painted. It's soo cute, I love the mickey head and the little spots- that reminds you of safari theme.. that is great! I would of loved to do that to! hehe

Congrats on going again to Disney World! I can't believe you're going back to soon.. but thats awesome. They have great deals going on right now- it stinks cause DH doesn't have any other vaca days til next year. We used them all already- but he won't let me plan another trip right now anyways. hehe I've already asked. hehe

My money is on Charles being the one bagging dinner! LOL!

Cute box! That is a fun keepsake for her to have from your trip!

Allyson

I def have to look into that adult jewelry making thing- sounds really neat!!!! Love the box, very cute!

Sounds like a great relaxing afternoon! I love reading about all the resort activities and look forward to the day when Henry is old enough to enjoy them. Chelsea's box turned out great. :thumbsup2

Henry would probably enjoy the cookie decorating when you go over Christmas! I know I would enjoy seeing pictures of that!

The "up next" had me :sad2: :headache:

Is the Brown Derby on your list for October again? ;)

"Someone" suggested that we should go there, but I pointed out that we would not be going to DHS on the October trip.

Very cute box. Oh no, about the dinner.

Thank you! I think Chelsea did a good job!

I love the pictures of the lodge and the activity! I know my girls would love to do that, we will have to get to it someday!

Charles... missing your sought after dinner!

Your girls are so going to love all the activities they offer at AKL! I can't wait for you all to experience them! (Luke will like them, too, when he gets older.)

Charles regretted missing it after he heard how good it was...he didn't miss any other ADRs the rest of the week. ;)

Tell Chelsea her box is super cute. Does she use it for jewelry? I'm glad she was feeling crafty at least.:laughing:What beautiful pictures of the AKL! I can see why you enjoyed staying there.:cloud9:

I will tell Chelsea! :goodvibes Actually I wasn't sure what she was keeping in there until I took it out of her room to photograph. Something was making noise in there, so I lifted the lid and found all her pressed pennies from various trips.

Wait until you see some of the other photos I took on Thursday. :goodvibes

I love Chelsea's box!!! I bet she really enjoyed doing that project, and I love how relaxing your afternoon was!!!! Postcards.......hmmm.......I wonder who one of those might happen to be for?!?!?!?!?! ;) Thanks again sweetie!

Chelsea had a great time doing it -- it was $15 well spent in my opinion.

 about the postcard -- you are so welcome -- I loved sending them!

NOW, I just can NOT believe that someone missed out on dinner.......especially THAT dinner!!!! Don't leave us hanging!!!

I will try not to leave you hanging too long.

I love that AKL has the different activities! What a great touch! Chelsea did a great job on the box. I feel like I have yet to hear about any food at AKL - table service, counter service or anything - that was not thought to be really good!

This is true -- everyone always seems to enjoy the food at AKL! They really have wonderful offerings.

Chelsea's box = :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thank you! :goodvibes

Looking forward to the next update!

I found the list of activities on the AKL/AKV Jambo Information Thread over on the Resorts Board.

I know I say this all the time, but I just know you are going to LOVE AKL!

I loved the Ceramics thing that Chelsea painted. It's soo cute, I love the mickey head and the little spots- that reminds you of safari theme.. that is great! I would of loved to do that to! hehe

Thank you! Chelsea had a lot of fun designing and painting her box.

Congrats on going again to Disney World! I can't believe you're going back to soon.. but thats awesome. Thank you! I am super excited. I should probably be financially responsible and not go on another trip so soon, but since Charles already declared 2010 a Disney World-free year, I figured I better grab it while I could. ;)

My money is on Charles being the one bagging dinner! LOL!

The odds are definitely in your favor!

Cute box! That is a fun keepsake for her to have from your trip!

I really thought it was super cute and gave Chelsea a souvenir she had designed -- which is right up her alley!

What a fun way to spend a quiet afternoon. Chelsea painted a cute little box. :)

Thank you! It was a very peaceful afternoon.

I def have to look into that adult jewelry making thing- sounds really neat!!!! Love the box, very cute!

Thank you! I looked up the adult jewelry activity, and when we were there it was offered on Wednesday and Saturday from 11:00am -- 1:00pm.

Love Chelseas box!! When we stayed at SSR last Sept., Connor was barely 3. They had an activity where kids could paint a little wooden car for $1.00. I think it was supposed to be kids 6-12 or some such. Well Connor HAD to paint a car. He was very good about it, said "please", hung his head, a big tear dropped onto his face, when I told him he could do it when baby brother turned 3. The CM said, "Connor, come sit down and you can paint a car right now"!! I love disney magic!!:goodvibes All it took was a couple of swipes of blue, one of red andd he was a VERY happy camper!!

Looking forward to your dinner review!

Aww Chelsea's box is so cute!!!! She did a great job.

Chelsea's box is so cute-what a great memory...

(Emily has finished your trip report-she obviously enjoyed it and went back to your pre-trip report-and told me I have to read it...:lmao: (I believe in starting them Dising young...)

Waiting patiently to hear about the Brown Derby...:rolleyes1

I was just there Sunday evening. I talked to Jason out on the savannah for a while, because no on else was around. Did you meet him?

I'm going to try to get caught up on report reading today. I know I have missed so much between camp and WDW!

It sounds like you all had a great day, Jackie! We went to the Mara on Sunday and it was good. My mom and I shared the falafel pita and vegetable flatbread, my brother got the turkey ciabatta and my dad got the chicken fingers and it was all delicious! We got some Zebra Domes too and I can't wait to go back to get some more. I'm glad you all liked it too! The painting activity also sounds like a lot of fun.

Looking forward to more!

Phew..

Finally caught up.

Love the painted box Chelsea made. My DD was looking over my shoulder at it. She's adding painting at AKL to her ever growing list of things to do.

I think Epcot causes everyone to break down at some point. I don't know why but it seems everyone has a story to tell about breaking down at Epcot.

Just found this trip report. Looks like a blast, I adore the zebra domes too and just looking at them makes me drool. I'm pretty sure everyone in my family has had at least one breakdown in EPCOT though, I think it's just all the heat and walking, almost as bad as Animal Kingdom. Can't wait to hear more though!

Henry would probably enjoy the cookie decorating when you go over Christmas! I know I would enjoy seeing pictures of that!

"Someone" suggested that we should go there, but I pointed out that we would not be going to DHS on the October trip.

:lmao: I think Henry would enjoy cookie decorating....and eating all the frosting! :goodvibes I think we might have to do that....

:headache: on no Brown Derby! Well, in one way....you have a VERY good reason to go back next year, right? Squeeze in a little side-trip...;)

I didn't know they had ceramics at AK Lodge. So cool! My DD-12 would love that!

Great update! Can't wait for more!

Congrats on your adults only trip!!!!
