Overhead shot of the F-16. I bought a print of one to hang in my office. If I was a pilot, this is what I would want to fly. Love these!

Of all of the planes I saw today, this was my favorite. It is a B-25 Mitchell. It was so clean and shiny it looked brand new. This plane was used in the notorious Doolittle Raid on Tokyo. You may remember this from the movie Pearl Harbor.

I've been importing video onto my new 1 terabyte network Drive. As soon as I have all 8 years of video imported I'll start editing and burning DVD's. So I've been spending a little time at my computer. (Not too much because I'm limited while the computer is working on the video.) Anyway, I looked on the DCL site to see how our cruise is filling up (always looking for an upgrade) So here's the rundown,

Cat's 8-11 all have a lot of vacancies. Cat 5-6 are selling only GTY (I've heard that booking switches to GTY when 90% of the rooms are booked) And there are a lot of vacancies at the Cat 4 level.

thanks for that info steve!!:thumbsup2
i'm thinking free windows for everyone!!!!:woohoo:

Calling all Parents! - I need help and advice - if you can stand reading all this then I'd like some advice if you have any...

I apologise its very long:rolleyes1

Just got Ellis' year 3 school report for the year:rolleyes1.....

How many times can a teacher write "could try harder if he stopped talking and started work when everyone else does" in one report:rolleyes:

He excels in reading and is already reading at a year 6 level, everything else he's on target and working at an appropriate level for his age etc, but we all know he's capable of soooooo much more. There are kids in his class who struggle and try hard for the whole hours lesson and still don't achieve what Ellis can do in 15 minutes. I just wish he'd realize he's wasting his chance at a good education.. He's been moved down a group this year in both literacy and numeracy - not because he's not capable, but the volume of works he completes just isnt enough to keep him in the top group anymore. I thought this would bother him, but he just says that its even easier now and doesnt even have to try in this group.

Its really frustrating:sad2:. Apparantly, out of an hours lesson, he might actually pick up his pencil after 30 minutes if he feels like it:rolleyes: He enjoys history and ICT, but numeracy and literacy :sad2: - he tunes out and does the littlest amount of work possible. I know what she says is true - its a battle getting him to do homework every weekend.:sad2: I think thats why she doesnt bother anymore... she's lost interest in him because he doesnt care either. I just hope that next year will be better.:guilty: We set him extra work at home, we encourage, nag, moan, beg him to try harder but unless he's interested in the subject then he just doesnt try. I just wish she would do what she did the once before - she sent him into the corridor to complete his work as he'd done nothing in 35 minutes in class. Within 12 minutes he'd completed it all - (it should have took about 45 minutes) - we all know he can do it when forced to, but she just leaves him to do nothing these days:sad2:, even though I've told her she has my blessing to either move him out into the corridor every time or keep him in at playtime til he gets the message etc.

Any ideas:idea:? - at this rate I'll be bald - I'm tearing my hair out with frustration.

I don't want the same thing to happen in September with the new teacher. For those who dont know - I've trained for 4 years as a teachers assistant, so I know all the techniques etc and believe me I've tried them all, nothing seems to work. He's like it in all aspects of his life - slow at everything, doesnt care if he is late, doesn't care what his work looks like - any old rubbish will do just to get it finished.... god help me when he gets to a teenager:scared: I dont want the new teacher to give up on him like this one has.

HELP!!!!!

Karen,

My DS # 2 is exactly like that. He could write a book on how to get the most out of the littlest work. It has always made me crazy and still does. But he has enjoyed every minute of life. His first grade teacher used to send him to read to the principle to keep him busy. He will be graduating from college in April. Not on any honor rolls, but never lost his scholarships and enjoyed college. I am sure if he wanted to go to law school or med school his grades would matter, but a solid B did him well.

You can't stress out, I did make him do homework before he could do anything else. They were very active in sports so the coaches also helped to get them to keep the grades up. Good luck and remember to pick your battles there are much bigger ones ahead.

Didn't we have a lovely time!

We're back on board and up on deck 9 getting ready to sail away from Castaway Cay.

The day started out with breakfast in topsiders and then off with the rest of the Bob'ers to claim the beach for BOB-kind!

We managed to snag a great place on the family beach and the kids were straight in the water, whilst the adults made themselves comfortable.

After several rounds of Konked Koolers by late morning after burying big red. She won't bother us now. No one will find her.

Cookies bbq was delicious, all topped off with great ice cream. So many photos with mickey and friends.

Back on board by 4pm and showered and changed. All the packings been done, so now we just have our last dinner and evening.

I enjoyed burying Big Red - it was fun mmmwwwwahahahahahaha (I think thats how Nancy and Bernie spell it!)

Especially the part where we all stuck the flag in the sand really hard and she went pop! - so,...... now we know....those personalities were fake all along:lmao: Not nearly so impressive now they're deflated:lmao::eek::rolleyes1

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:
seems you ladies enjoying burying bigred in my absence on the DCL fantasy cruise.:rotfl2:

Well call me Indiana Jones and i'm going on a treasure hunt looking for a "buried treasure".:lovestruc
and dont worry, i'm sure they have an air pump on the ship.:thumbsup2

Ok, quick story behind this. Before this vacation Sam could sort of swim but wouldn't venture far from the wall or some type of floatation device. She is a natural athlete. She told me a few years ago to take off her training wheels. I relented eventually and she just rode her bike like nothing. She is incredibly graceful. Just in the last few weeks she is diving into pools. Her older (13 year old) cousin asked her the other night when she saw her dive, "Sam how can you do that?" Sam responded, "I'm just talented." While I don't encourage bragging, there might be truth to her statement.

Anyway, today Sam said, "Dad can i try flipping off the board?" I said, "sure why not" As soon as she did it once, I grabbed my BlackBerry and took video with it the next two times. Here is that video.

Sam doing flips...the kid is amazing
