We came back from our (short) latest Disney trip yesterday and I'm ready to do some dining reviews !

Comin' up :

Kona Café (dinner)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
Captain Cook's (dinner)
Tusker House's Donald's Safari (breakfast)
Fulton's Crab House (dinner)
Coral Reef (lunch)
Cosmic Ray's (dinner)
Kona Café (breakfast)
Boma (dinner)
Cape May (breakfast)
Cantina de San Angel (dinner)
'Ohana (breakfast)

Our party consisted of Grumpy - my mom - and myself.
We have very different tastes, so we tried our best to get ADRs at places we'd both enjoy.

We're eating at Kona, Coral Reef, and Tusker House in about two weeks. I look forward to your reviews.

I can't wait to see what I missed out on at Chef Mickey's. Bring on the food!!

:goodvibes

We went there on our arrival night, without an ADR (after getting turned away at 'Ohana, as expected). It was about 9.30pm and we were seated right away.

Our server first brought us bread with macadamia butter, which was heavenly good.

Then we shared an order of California rolls which were brought from the sushi bar right outside the restaurant. Those were very good, I'd say just as good at Cali Grill's.

For her entree, Grumpy had the Coconut Almond Chicken - Sauteed chicken breast served with Asian greens tossed with honey lime dressing, golden pineapple, strawberries, and toasted almonds. - $16.49

She had expected small bites of chicken instead of one big piece, but said it was very good anyway, with just the right amount of coconut and pineapple.

I had the Macadamia Nut & Chive-crusted Mahi-Mahi - Served with watercress salad, warm Shiitake-soy vinaigrette, and sticky rice. - $20.99

As you can see on the picture, my fish was served with both rice AND potatoes. I have absolutely no idea why, but everything tasted great, although the fish was quite dry.

We had had dinner at Kona back in December 2006 and were not impressed, but this time we had a great meal and would not hesitate to go back.

Sadly, I have to report that the chocolate macadamia torte is indeed off the menu :(

Girl You really have it going on,pics are good clear and make you feel like the food is sitting right infront of me,I think your on the way to a delicious start:cool1:

mmmm... california rolls.... sushi....

any idea if you can order the sushi from the Kona Island bar while dining at 'Ohana?

Rice AND potatoes? What's the matter, they couldn't fit polenta, grits, corn, couscous and pap on there as well? I've never seen that before.

Seconding the question about the sushi - did you order it from Kona Cafe or bring it with? Looks like you ordered it.

Ohhhh... I was just about to goto sleep and then ... new pics!

Now I will fall to sleep dreaming of fresh & warm macadamian buttered bread, and sushi!

I want more!

Subscribing. We are doing Cape May Cafe for breakfast for the first time this year and also going to Fulton's for our special anniversary dinner so anxious to hear your thoughts.

I followed your last TR and happy to see that you and Grumpy actually got to eat at some of the restaurants you wanted this time. :thumbsup2 Glad to hear Kona was good, we are eating there in Dec.
