That is the question on deck!

I can't afford to have them both, or I definately would. Anyone have advice on which I should choose. I have no idea which way to go on this one!

VIDEO!!!!
Without a doubt.
My biggest regret about my wedding was I did not have a professional videographer an photographer.
DO IT.
You only get the coach for about 15 min
The video you will have your whole life.

Not a Disney bride, and been married for 15 years, but how about seeing if someone would "buy" you the video as a wedding present, perhaps parents or in-laws? I'd die for a ride in the carriage, but am so happy I had a video of my wedding that I can't image having to pick only one! Maybe you have a friend who is handy with a video camera that would be willing to video for you? Good luck in making this decision. I don't envy you. :confused3

can you afford an outside vendor for video? They are cheaper than Disney......I say go with the video because you have it forever but I think you should do what is important to you :).

def. do the video... the memories will last a lifetime on the video...

I have thought about almost everything. My first thought was to pay an outside vendor to video everything, and then use Cindy's Coach since the video wouldn't be 3500$. The coach is something I have admired since I was little, but I want my wedding on tape as well.

When I talked to my mom, she really wanted the video, from Disney. Something about the way that they film and edit everything. My heart isn't really set on it.. but I think hers is. Does anyone have good advice about outside videographers.. that way I can persuade my mom. Is there work comparable to what Disney Does...Any recommendations?

Also... DF wanted to get Cindys coach as my wedding gift.. he went to my mom and everything to be secretive... but I think he ran screaming when he heard it was $2700. It's expensive.. but worth it to me!! SO, I don't think I can persuade someone into that.. DF was my best shot.

Guess its bad to the drawing board..:stir:

STVSvideo.com

I used STan and he is amazing!!!! go to the website and click on gallery. the username is blu-ray and the passowrd is ariel.

The videos are shortened versions on there. mine is at the top, Lynnmarie and Timothy.

Watch Amanda and Eric's video, she had the coach so you can see how he captured it on video!

It's not letting me in!!
It said i'm unauthorized!

Do you remember how much you paid for his video?
Disney cheapest is $3500!

Use the password magic and the username Lynn gave you. It should work then. Ariel is the password for Randy's website. (I think Lynn just confused them - I do it all the time! :rotfl: )

I would also love to know how much STV's videos are too so I can get an idea on a budget becuase I am having a similar dilemma.

I thought the password was magic? :confused3

we're using STVS too -- our biggest selling point was that you can upgrade to HD blu-ray -- and being techonerds, DF and I really want this! :cool1:

Has your mom actually seen Disney's videos?...:rolleyes1

I would go with the video. We don't have one from our wedding as my parents paid for the majority of the wedding, and they didn't see the need for a video and DH and I didn't have money for one at the time. I don't regret not getting one, but if it had been an option, it sure would have been a nice thing to have now.

But, if the ride in the coach is what you want, and you are getting the video solely because you think your mom really wants one, I would probably choose the coach. I've never seen anyone say that they regret spending the money on the coach.

Has your mom actually seen Disney's videos?...:rolleyes1

I was going to ask the same question...along with does your mom know about the girl that hired Disney to do her video and they never showed up? :scared1:

ETA-Your DF should talk to my DH. DH got me the coach as a wedding gift and anytime I tell someone about it or I tell him how it's the best present he ever got me (besides my doggie) he gleams with pride. It's cute. If your DF does shell out the money I can assure him he won't regret it when he sees how happy it makes you :cloud9:

I say with Star Fruit Prod. Carrie and Caryn's demo's made me cry b/c they were so beautifully done...

OK, I apologize for my previous comment.. I was in the middle of eating and I think I came across the wrong way, I wasn't trying to be rude.. I was just focused on my subway.

My mom and I watched a Disney DVD that was only about one month old when we got it. She really liked the digital montage they do at the beginning and there openings.

I have a feeling that any videographer is going to charge alot to cover a 6 hour event, but I wanna try and budget in the coach!

Thanks for all the info! It's definately worth looking into!

I also wanted to mention that the reason my mom has persuasion on this issue is because she and my dad are footing the bill.
Well, all but the pics. So I think I have to consider what she wants..

Well, what if you DON'T have someone recording the ENTIRE day? That would lower the cost? Maybe right before the ceremony but not the whole getting ready and at the reception but only the big things that you may want to do: father/daughter dance, garter/bouquet toss, cake cutting. You could arrange the reception to have those things done earlier on so the videographer could cut out early. Have you done a lot of research on this? Also- a lot of vendors recommend other vendors. I know the photographer I am going with does this and so does the make up artist. That's a great way to find other vendors. Research research research so you can get it all! Good luck!

I'm working on it.. but I don't have much time to play with. I have to make a real decision soon. Our full payment is due in about two and a half weeks and our wedding is right behind that.. I found a few websites for video, but I really need to let my mom know what i'm doing. I am having a dessery party and I think I would really like to include that in my video.. we'll see. It won't be long until we know whats going on... Thanks!

If you can't figure out a way to do both things (which in an ideal world would be lovely) I have to say that I think a video is a more lasting keepsake. I just got married 2 weeks ago and I can't wait to relive my day when I get the video - see things I didn't get to etc. You only have your memories when the day is done and I think a video makes them more lasting!

That said - its your wedding. If the coach is more important to you (and your mom if she has some say) then go for it! Whatever you choose will make your day that much more special in its own way! :goodvibes
