Pats - Giants game not on TV

It's on the NFL Network.

The NFL should change that. The whole thing is lame anyways, but this is a chance at history and you'd have to pay to watch it.

I know, I'm pissed. I'd love to watch the Giants lose (I hate them) and the Pats go undefeated.

There have been virtually non-stop commercials, and 'reminders' that locally, in MA anyway, the game will be broadcast on Channel 5.

That doesn't help a lot of New Englanders, but if you get channel 5, you should be good to go.

I don't have an issue with it, but 1.) I hate the Pats and Giants and 2.) we get the NFL network.

I can see why people would be mad though.

I'm a Pats fan but I get NFL Network.

Sports bars are going to be packed Saturday night though. There has been petitioning from John Kerry (blurb here) to get the game moved to a station where all fans can watch but I don't think it will happen in time for the game, which is sad.

Yup, it stinks big time!!

Our cable provider doesn't even offer it. Did I read some where that you could watch on the computer? At any rate, the nfl network site is awful. They give you no idea of what the costs are unless you sign up. :confused3

So, yeah, the fans are the big losers in all of this. :sad2:

We get the NFL Network and are really looking forward to the game! The camera angles seem to be so far superior to those on the major networks, I've wondered if they have special cameras that the NFL Network can only use? That being said, it sucks that the majority of America won't be able to watch the game.

Oh, and as far as making history...it's not...until they go allll the way! Go Miami Dolphins!! ;)

Lucky for us, we live in Foxboro and get Channel 5. A friend who lives in RI doens't get it, but we told him to come on over if he wants to watch on Saturday.

You have no idea how PO'd I'd be if I couldn't watch the game this week.

I hate that the NFL Network exists because you have to pay to watch the game. I don't think you should ever have to pay to watch your local sports team and since the Patriots represent all of New England, everyone in New England should be able to get the game.

If I had a bigger place, I'd invite more people over to watch.

Laugh, We've noticed the great camera angles, too. It is a big improvement over any other network. :cool1:

John Kerry...that makes sense, it's his face that's on their helmets! ;)

Blah....I am getting dragged out Saturday night to watch the game. The game starts when we are usually getting ready for bed. I'd rather be able to watch it at home. Oh well the sacrifices we make for our spouses. ;)

I won't even be watching live! My dad's 60th birthday is today and his party is Saturday. Thank goodness for TiVo!!!!

Just heard it IS going to be on channel 5 which I do get. Guess I jumped the gun a bit.

Still stinks for the rest of the country though. I'm sure there are alot of people (like or hate the Pats) interested to see if they can do it.

I don't have a problem with the NFL network. In fact I love it, its great. I have direct tv which is far superior in prce and service to cable. I think if you are a football fan its the only way to go. You can do the NFL sunday ticket and see all the games if you want. I don't have a problem paying for something I really like.

Take action!

It's the cable companies that force you to pay for NFL network, not the NFL. The NFL wants everyone to get it as part of their basic service, but the cablecos want the $$.

Actually it's a two-way street. The NFL Network wants it as part of Basic Service yet wants a hefty pound of flesh for such service. The NFL Network can't have it both ways. The cable companies can't afford to put it on a basic level and pay the price being asked. The NFL Network should just allow the cable companies to place it on a paid tier. I would pay for it. I know the NFL Network has relented on this in some bigger markets, but smaller ones stil have NOTHING.

At best, that's grievously misleading; at worst, patently false. The NFL took these games OFF free television in the first place, and they're now insisting that every single subscriber pay their high fees, even the ones who don't care about football!! The cable companies are representing many of their customer's BEST interests -- keeping NFL Network off the basic cable line up reduces the value of the basic cable package, and lower value means lower prices.

Make every football fan pay for football themselves. :thumbsup2
