Not sure how well you can see it, but the guys on the bench are sleeping..you can see a knee of someone else on another bench and they were sleeping too.. My kids were embarrassed that I was taking pictures of these strangers sleeping
You are sooo right. Remember when only "old men" wore socks with sandals well I see kids with those nike looking beach shoes and socks all the time. The first time I saw it I really went "what the ..." Now it's common place. (Still don't like it but it's common place)
I say bring back big socks and sneakers. I looooved that look (early 90s) and there was nothing more comfortable than a pair of big socks bunched up above the ankle. (as shown below)

Not angry at all. It's just no one gets why I thought it was "WTH" and I've stated numerous times why. It just gets a little old.

DH especially likes the little illustration on the back of the package.....complete with little ears.
This one had no instructions, but DH decided it was a butt scratcher....not the words he used though.
DH shares his joy with my mom, who didn't see the humor.
