Thanks for commenting on my latest creation!

As far as selling on the auction site, I will have to think about it. With pets in the house, I am afraid that would deter some people from bidding.

Miss Patches has already found that she likes to sit on the table next to the sewing machine, and swat at the fabric as it whizzes by. Silly cat!

If I close the door, she meows relentlessly until I open it.
Midnite doesn't want any part of it and slinks off somewhere else to cat nap! I have never seen two cats with such different personalities!

Have a great day all!

I have another Disney outfit in the planning, I just have to sketch it out and find the trims to implement it.

You amaze me! I love to see your creations!

Here, here!! I like to sew for Terra, but my past projects seem to have taken so long that I don't do it often. Maybe I need to find a few versitle things and concentrate on getting good at those patterns and then adapt from there. I'm determined to get a Halloween costume made this year!

Tia - What sweet pics! I like babies. I don't want another one, but I like them!;)

Elin - I keep forgetting to tell you I like your newest round of pics, too! Keep them coming!

DH actually had his suitcases all arranged on his side of the bed this morning. (They are empty.) He says we will have plenty of room in the car. The other day he said we wouldn't. He did say the Pearl has more cargo space than the old car, so that will help a little bit.

Princess is sleeping, DH is at his staff meeting, DS is looking through the baseball cards he just bought at Toys R Us. Pretty quiet here.

I called the leasing office and told them there is a BIG water spot on our dining room ceiling, so hopefully the guys will get that fixed. Obviously it is a roof leak, so hopefully they will fix it from the outside instead of the inside. The last time we had a water leak (on the opposite side of the same wall) they were supposed to repaint the ceiling but they never did. I guess I should call back about that. But I don't want them painting the ceiling above my new computer. I can live with the water stain as long as it stops leaking!

I made an appt. to take the Pearl in for the new seat track and the recall work. Saturday AM at 8:30. Ick. Hopefully they will fix it in a TIMELY fashion so I can have it back by the time they close at 5 PM.

And on the note of books, I am on the lookout for recommendations for both books and movies. I had a list for awhile, but don't know what happened to it. Now my library requests are dwindling and I need more! :teeth: So, any suggestions. And in return, I have a good one to recommend as well.

I recently finished a book called Forever Lily. It was recommended to Phil as something I might like and I really enjoyed it. It is the memoirs of a woman who accompanied a friend to China when the friend was adopting a baby. Through various turns of events, the author herself ends up adopting the littl girl. The story of motherly love and fate is beautiful!

Thanks everyone!

I made a Halloween costume for DS one year. (YES! I really did!) It was a jester that I saw in a magazine. I bought a knit stocking cap and used fabric glue to attach little triangles around the edge, then I sewed jingle bells on the points of the triangles. The top was a big rectangle of felt folded in half with a hole cut out to go over his head. The top was decorated with cut out felt shapes, then there was a separate collar of pointed felt with more bells. He wore a turtleneck under it and wore some knit pants (almost like pajama bottoms). I did it all with fabric glue and a needle & thread. I was very proud. Then DS got horribly sick on Halloween and couldn't trick or treat.:guilty: Luckily it still fit the following year.:rotfl2:

That sounds great! Maybe that will be my book to read on the plane!

What sort of books do you like? I like murder/mystery books. John Sandford is wonderful, and I see he has a brand new one out. I also like Jeffrey Deaver. I used to like Patricia Cornwell but she has kind of jumped the shark. I like Sue Grafton but she hasn't had a new book in awhile. Of course if you haven't read these authors before you can start at the beginning of their series and be busy for a long time!

I ususally head to the fiction/historical fiction/lightweight romance first, but read just about anything. I lean to fiction over nonfiction, but like some nonfiction as well, particularly when about people or historical places. I'll write these authors down and check them out. Thanks!

Very cute! Sometimes those simple ideas are the cutest.

Darn darn darn :(

Today I saw a link for the dates of the 2008 F & G Festival. If I had been using my brain when John mentioned going in 2008, I would have mentioned waiting and going during that time frame. Mom would have loved it.

Tia, any book by Stephen King.

Also...
Walt Disney The Triumph Of The American Imagination.

Presenting Miss Kaylin Elaine - 6lbs9oz, 19.5in, born at 3:41am 8/1/07

Chase meets Kaylin

Too cute! I love how Chase is "touching" Kaylin's nose. :rotfl:

Congrats to the family! :)

Tammi - glad you got the outcome you wanted!

Elin - did you take the picture of the tree on the rocks on 17 Mile Drive? I love your pictures. TFS!

:woohoo:
Good Morning DDA!

Duckieoutfit001.jpg
Seriously, Tom. you have to stop. I think that I may have to have another baby so I can *hopefully* have a girl to dress her in outfits as cute as this! :goodvibes

So, our water bill was a lot higher than usual so I checked the toilets for leaks and checked the outside spigots, etc. Nothing leaking. Called the water company. Seems that the water leak is coming from the outside and not the inside. The solution? Have a plumber dig up the yard and find the leaky pipe.   He said that in the time that we were talking, the pipe leaked 2 gallons of water. :scared1: So, I have to get it fixed pronto. And, I've got to pack for NY and am leaving at 6 am on Friday morning. :headache:

Happy Hump Day!

Afternoon all...

Just popping in before we leave tomorrow morning.

Lucy had her 1 month check up today. She is 10lbs, 2 oz. and 21 3/4 inches. She has gained almost 2 lbs in a month. She checks out perfectly!

Molly went to Chuck E Cheese with Dana and her girls this morning. Emma went with my aunt and her granddaughter to a miniature horse farm near Gettysburg, PA. Fun days all around.

Marci- Happy Birthday!!!

Anne Marie- Can't remember if I wished you & Dana a Happy Birthday so [FONT="Arial
Black"]Happy Birthday[/FONT]

Eric's sister had her baby on your birthday. We have a new niece, Sarah Fay. She weighed in at 7lbs 5 oz. No length as apparently they don't measure them in England :confused3 :confused3

Tia- Congrats on the new princess! Must be the year for them. Everyone I know that is or was pregnant is having or had a princess:
We did see Hairspray and Emma loved it. Molly enjoyed it and sat through it pretty well. The funny thing was is that Emma told Molly not to sing the songs during the movie. She must have told her about 50 times. Well Molly didn't sing but Emma wouldn't shut up:rolleyes:

Karen- I hope you can get your attendant and PT straightened out. How frustrated you must be :wizard:

Tom- I know 3 little girls who would love an outfit like that! ;) I wouldn't mind a little cat hair!! I will be sending you a PM regarding the Aquarium.

Beth- Glad your home!

Tammi- :cool1: :cool1: for the outcome in your favor! Don't you just love the drugs! Glad your feeling better.

Elin- Great pics again!

 's and :wizard: all around. I know I missed a bunch of you. If anything major happens this weekend can someone PM me. I will have limited computer time and I know I won't be able to stay caught up!!

oh no,
I hope the plumber can find the leak and fix it fast and cheap.

Um...and now my oven is broken. I've had nothing but problems with this oven. It's a gas oven and intermittenly, it won't turn over. You lite it....and nothing. So, I go to make dinner...and nothing. Darn. Now what to do about dinner.

Halloween around here is usually very cold. In fact, for the last 2 years, we've had snow! So, our costumes usually revolve around sweatsuits. One year Katie and Jacob were both mice. They wore grey pants and hoodies. I attached ears made out of grey felt. We painted their faces and added tails that were a pair of grey tube socks stuffed and pinned onto the waistband.

Orange pumpkins were fun one year. I made jack-o-lantern faces out of black felt and attached them with fabric glue. I made quick knit caps of green and they were good to go.

I've always wanted one of my kids to go as a bunch of grapes; a green or purple sweatsuit with balloons blown up and pinned all over them. A cap of brown for the stem and they'd be done. No one ever went for that idea, though.

So, now you make RESERVATIONS!:rotfl2: Sorry about the oven! And the water pipe!:headache: What a mess!

Tia - Have you read the Mitford series by Jan Karon? Totally not books I would have chosen myself, but a former Momboss had them so I read them. They were very enjoyable! I also loved "Cider House Rules". I never saw the movie. The book is about 600 pages so there is no way the movie could have covered everything in the book. It started slow, but I really liked it after I got into it. I used to read Anne Rivers Siddons and Mary Higgins Clark but haven't read them in several years. Mary Higgins Clark has a very distinct "formula" so all of her books tend to be almost the same.

If you like fun murder mysteries, try the Hannah Swenson murder series. The first one is Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder. They are all really fun, and contain some really yummy recipes. Yes, I tried some of them!

I just finished a really good book called "The Rule of Four." It is a literary mystery, and it really was good. Can't remember the author though.

If you like young adult fiction, try Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. Very romantic, and not what you'd expect!!! Loved both of them!!!

Our book club just read "Three Cups of Tea" and it was excellent, too! You'll never look at world events the same again!
