B O R I N G - I guess we COULD all clean the house - but, what fun is that?

:scared1: :scared1: Boy, you must be bored!:lmao:

I need to clean up my office (again) but the computer is in here, and...here's the DIS.....and.....

Actually, really don't have time to start on the office. Every Saturday is sport Saturday around here! Today it is a Lacrosse Practice, a Basketball Game and a Tennis match. I'm only doing two of the three, and DH is doing a different two. The tennis match will be cute, my 10 year old is playing with a girl partner--he hasn't done that before. The family is friends with us, so I'm going to take him and ride with the girl and her mom. It's about 45 minutes from here! Since DH will already have two activities in for the day, he is opting out. Plus, somebody is picking up DS14 for a church activity at about that time, and it is probably a good idea for DH to be here to make sure he doesn't "forget." (He's not very enthusiastic about it.)

That's good. I left dd's ped shortly after first son was born. The man made a comment about having a real little (our last name) now. He said this WHILE dd was in the room! I never went back to him.

Wow that WAS stupid...:sad2: Good for you for not going back! I had a dentist gossip about our orthodontist with my 10 year old sitting in the chair. I didn't leave over her comments, but I did call and let her know that she said some things that "concerned my child" while she was working on him! She stammered and stuttered, but I spent quite awhile trying to explain away her comments, I thought she deserved to be uncomfortable! How is it possible that they forget kids can hear?:confused3

I'm supposed to be sitting at my desk shuffling all these papers that have been building up unshuffled since, oh, Thanksgiving or so. Can someone either make me do it or come over and do it for me? I'd make them a great mug of coffee!!

This made me laugh...just posted a similar thing! Maybe I can bring mine over and we can do it together...with your coffee!;)

Doing a quick post by. Have to pick DS up from his bowling league. Decided not to stay with him this week, so I could enjoy a real cup of coffee. Just thought I would say hello quickly to everyone. I have so many things I want to do today. I sanded, primed, and painted one side of my sliding glass door that was installed ummm a long time ago that has been sitting and waiting for me. Now today, I have to do the other side. Hang the curtains, and make the sheers for it. :yay: I can't believe I'm getting it done. Its only been forever. :rotfl: Have a bit of sheetrocking and spackling to do, and then I will be happy with my progress for the day :woohoo:

Talk to you all soon!

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :flower3:
I got all caught up on stuff at home this past week. Now I'm all dressed up and nowhere to go.:rolleyes1 Question for you LTS? If you homeschool, you don't have snow days, right? You said they didn't have school for 2 days? How does that work? Geez, I'm really asking a serious question:rolleyes:

Where I am you are not accountable for any specific hours or number of days. The kids just have to be able to pass a standardized test for their grade level at the end of the year (they could both pass it right now so it is no big deal)

I set my own goals. My goal is for us to have school 5 days a week, and that will allow us to meet my educational goals for them, but that just doesn't always happen! Yesterday we were gone all day for appointments and errands. The day before both DD's weren't feeling well and that threw our entire day off so nothing got done.

My kids gripe if we don't have have snow days when the Public Schools are, but I have to remind them that we take Sun days instead! If the weather is nice we are likely to have a Park Playdate or do an outdoor "field trip" than sit inside and work.

And actually on Monday the PS is out so we are getting together to do something fun with friends that are in school--so they will miss that day also. This has actually been a difficult year for "attendance". We were gone a week for Disney, and then in Oct when I was sick we missed a bunch--I can't call in a sub! We will probably be doing our math and Language Arts into the summer to make sure they have completed their grade level requirements before we begin next year.

Again, these are MY goals, not anything demanded by the state. I have a pretty good state to homeschool in. PA is one of the most difficult from what I have heard because of the strict requirements and amount of paper work required.

LTS, sounds like you're working above and beyond....

you know, though, unless things get too crazy, I wouldn't let yourself feel guilty. PS kids have breaks, miss school because of things like doctors/dentist appointments, are released early for conferences or teacher training, have their schedules adjusted for a number of assemblies, pep rallies, go on field trips, etc. And don't forget the barrage of standardized tests they miss classroom time for. I'll bet you're not off as much as you think!:hug:j

(My children have only had one full week of school since they were released for Winter December 15th!) They have two full weeks coming up, but then a four day and a three day week, so they have a long Presidents Day weekend.

You're amazing!! I did have to stay very involved when the kids were going through ps though. I loved sitting and redoing lessons with them and suddenly seeing the lightbulb go on in their brains! I often wonder where they'd be if I hadn't spent the extra learning time with them.

I don't even know how to thread a needle, I use the iron stuff :lmao: DH does the ironing and the sewing. I can't iron beyond a straight line. I REFUSE to let DH spackle. There is more spackle caked on the wall then Tammy Faye Baker has on her face. Makes it difficult to sand. So its my job, or rather I make it my job :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: I can sew, :yay: but don't do anything too complicated. And sometimes it easier to do something yourself rather than try to train a DH, isn't it!:rolleyes1 Good luck with your project...I've got to head out in a few minutes and play mommy/:cheer2: :cheer2: .

Hey everyone, quick flyby. Not that anything appears to have happened much.. :rotfl2:

LTS too lazy to change the thread name??? WHAT?! Do NOT make me get the Frog porn picture back up again!! :rotfl2:

Suggestions: "Ugh...", "So... Wanna Soda?", "Pokemon Rule", "Pokemon Master Rules...", "All bow down to Pokemon Master", "Master is the Master" etc etc.. Take your pick.. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

NOT lazy, tired! There is a difference. When I am lazy then I am usually here and will change it! Tired means just to exhausted to even think of something. Thanks for the suggestions, but I will keep thinking. . . :teeth:

And I would be careful with that frog picture of you will end up with points. If commando Minnie was banned you don't want to know what the frogs will get you! You are already in trouble with the siggy fairy! Sounds like you have a stalker also!

I wasn't IN trouble with the Siggie fairie. They said to have a look out, and so I asked someone was mine ok.. Turns out it wasn't.. BUT it's sorted now and hopefully the siggie fairy will not have to come and get me..

Perhaps we should blame the perhaps that found them in the first place.. Don't shoot the messenger!! :rolleyes1

Good idea!!! Heaven knows that trying to get through these towering mountains of paper on my own isn't working. I've tried everything -- ignoring them, staring at them in despair, waiting for them to evolve into self-shuffling paper creatures ... nothing's happened! :sad2:

I don't like to boast, being a modest sort, but I make a cup of coffee that could make a strong man cry tears of wonder. Not only is the coffee itself a thing of caffeinated beauty, but I have the most AWESOME attachment on the coffee maker that steams milk, so my coffee involves a glorious milky foaminess on top. Mmmmm, coffee ...

Just tell me when to set out the mugs and I'll be ready!! :goodvibes

Hi everyone! Bumping this thread...

Thotful, your coffee sounds awesome...since Germany's a bit far for me, I may now have to run out to a coffee shop and get what I'm sure is a poor imitation. Did you get far yesterday? I got some stuff done, but that filing always just seems to be the last thing I get to.:sad2: And the coffee would let me stall a bit longer!

Very cold here today...we had about 20 robins in our yard yesterday, and tonight it is supposed to be 17 degrees. Aren't Robins supposed to mean Spring?

Whew! I made it --still morning when I posted above! It helps that the DIS clock is off so I get a few extra minutes :rotfl2:

It sure has been quiet around here. I could hear the sprickets chirping yesterday. . . Hmmm, just had an idea--off to change the thread title!
